Re: questions concerning christmas tree

I remember a Steve Taylor several years ago trying to get the first or worst red light rule changed. No one listened then so instead he went out with his FWD Caviler foot brake car and ran a high dollar electronics bracket race and kick all of the fast "button boys" ***** for the win money. The fast guys bitched and they had the et breaks changed so he couldnt run with them anymore. Scared them to death....lol. To bad he is no longer with us. Strange guy but one hell of a nice guy and driver......RIP.

I've been the first leaver in Stock since I started in 1999.I'm comfortable with the foul rule as is.It makes me concentrate more on leaving. If it changes, because either pressure from CURRENT S/SS racers or an
organizational decision, but not by someone who is bracket racing and not a S/SS racer.
And as I stated above he should look in the mirror about his last word comment.
I hope that gives you an idea about how I feel.

Ed,

I'm sorry that your priorities are such that your problem with my having involved myself in this theoretical discussion has dictated your conclusion that it is not a good idea. Turning a discussion about ideas such as this, into a personal pissing match, is never a good idea; it skews the outcome, such as it has, here.

The fact is, my bracket car suffers EXACTLY THE SAME POTENTIAL FATE as your NHRA Stocker, when I have to leave first in a handicapped race. EXACTLY THE SAME... That is, If I bulb, I go home.... if the second car to leave, bulbs worse, he goes to the next round... or, the winner's circle. That makes no sense. I asked you before; do you think the first car to break out should lose? It's exactly the same deal.... You never answered, of course, because, if you said "yes," it would lead others to conclude that you really DON/T understand the worse red light rule, but if you answered "no", it would appear that you support the logic of the worse red light rule.... so, you said nothing. As usual.

As NHRA goes, so goes the rest of the drag racing world in cases like this.

I can't see where your running a class-legal car makes your opinion any more valid than mine, since we are in the same boat with regard to gettting screwed by this first red light rule.

If there's a significant difference, what is it??????????????????????????

Insofar as not liking to lose an argument, I have lost a few, but I was wrong, then.

I'm not wrong about this. If you had ever given me one, legitimate, logical, reason NOT to change this lopsided rule, I'd have apologized to you and switched to YOUR SIDE...

But, you have never done that. You think it's somehow, effective to attempt to ridicule me from several different angles (location; being a bracket racer, trying to run NHRA by remote control, etc...), but none of that works, because it deals with ME, and not the subject...

I think that if they ever did change this rule, you'd take it as a personal offense, solely because ~I~ wanted to see it happen...

That's pathetic.

" Mark, did you read my post to you? "

Yes I did, Ed. I took it to mean you thought that additional pressure made you a better driver.
If I'm correct ,I'll leave it at that.
I suspect there is some "self serving" going on, on the other end of the spectrum, though.

Is that the thing in the middle of the track by the starting line? I thought the starter kicked the quarter panel to tell you to leave. It's got lights and Chris Cringle on it? That one? Gee

Jeff, I thought you were supposed to leave when the old guy sitting on the stool with the Panama hat and the confused look yelled "C'mon git otta heya". (That's New York Cajun, for those unfamiliar with accents).

Can't believe you guys have dragged this out for this long. BTW Gary, Ed is from NY. No one in NJ is worried about anyone coming here to show us how to race. We got that figured out. I've raced both coasts and there's good racers and bananna heads everywhere. I said it on DRR yesterday that the only way you'll get anything changed for the better is to have people that actually race (or have raced) take employment positions at the sanctioning bodies.

Ive never met anybody from New Jersey that had enuf smarts to get out of the rain... much less enuf sense to discuss anything that mattered... To tell the truth & I hate to say it because their may be a few good people in Jersey... Most of my experience with Jersey people Ive had here has been with Con Men!!! I dont think it is coincidental that a major insult to someone here is to ask them if they are from Jersey !!!

You leave so much on the table to goof on,but I was laughing so hard I fell off my chair. You say your name is Bushwacker?Well, dagnabit.
Someone told me once there are more letters in Mississippi than the average IQ of the residents, but there can't be any truth in that.
What's wrong with being out in the rain?I only dislike rain at the track.

I am from New Jersey...lived here all my life. One of the best place you could ever want to live in my opinion......We have just about everything one could want....City, country, you name it. I live 45 miles from NYC. The Big Apple.....

I traveled thru Mississippi on a trip back from Texas. I had a state road dept worker tell me his life story at a rest stop and couldn't wait to get away from that hillbilly and recall stopping for gas in Jackson.....Nice steel BARS on the windows of the place I stopped at. didn't exactly impress me with what I saw going thru a lot of areas down south......

This thread is hilarious.......

Hey Richie! Yeah, we have a saying for those types. "Welcome to NJ! Now GO HOME!" I have a good friend, Steve Stites from faulkner MS. He's a nice guy and I never felt the need to bash him or his state but we've both been to nearly every state in this fine country racing and we choose where to go home at the end of the day.
I'll take my NJ that has no excessive problems with tornados, hurricanes, major floods, drought, blizzards, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, fire ants, scorpions, bugs bigger than my foot, or other deadly creatures.
Most ignorant people will think our entire state is made up of what you see on the Sopranos: Highways, urban areas, smartazz people, and go-go bars. However enticing the aformentioned are, anyone living here can experience the following with just a short drive: The Ocean/shoreline, Boardwalks, Casinos, countless lakes & rivers for fishing or boating, whitewater rafting on the delaware river, professional sports, hot air ballooning, skiing in the mountains, horseback riding, roadside farm stands to buy your produce, endless hiking/biking trails and parks, should I go on? You may think it's an insult to ask someone if they're from Jersey, the truth is you couldn't even live here if you wanted to.

Thanx! Your small and insignificant opinion will be taken under advisement.
Have a great day!

Jim,

Where did you get the ideal that I said I wanted to show you guys how to race? I never said that! I said that I want to race Mr. Ed!!! Did you not read my thoughts of his insulting my race car? Anybody that insults my car, I'll want to line up next to. My bud Fletch is out there, Biondo, and countless others that would school me like know ones business, however, I wasn't born yesterday (maybe a few thousand yesterdays ago...lol), but enough that the person I really want to race (Mr. Ed) would find out that my "Chihwawa" as he called it, would be a formidable foe for his Gremlin (or is it Nilmerg, lol)! That's all.

You are kidding? This is like what kids in the playground sound like.
Get up real close to the front and the car and listen closely.I bet you'll hear "Yo quiero Taco Bell, you're
getting hhhungry,veddy hhhungry".
Would you like me to relay any greetings to Peter or Anthony when I see them?I'm sure they are waiting with bated breath.
Gary,really,get a life.

Yeah Ed, you can relay to Peter that I'm glad he had another (of many) great racing season, and you can tell Anthony congratulations on his great season.

Now, were you kidding when you insulted my race car? I don't think so, and no this isn't like what kids in the playground sound like...you insulted my car, I want my car to have a chance to make your life miserable (not that you might need any help???), even if for just one race. You tell me to "get a life", when you don't even write "Yo te quiero" right??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Your grammar is failing you, but I haven't been the only one on this forum who's told you that, plus other things regarding your mindset...I'll just consider the source, and keep on enjoying all of the nice days here in metro Phoenix, that'll soon make people all over the country wish they were here...WELCOME TO YOU WHO WILL FEEL THAT WAY!!!

As for you Ed, I'll (as you said earlier) save my pennies (plus my nickels, dimes, quarters, and perhaps dollars), so I can attend "more" than three races next year. Who knows, I may surprise my darn self by being able to someday make it out there to E'town, and race with/against you. Bottom line, I don't insult anyone's race car(s) the way you are mine (that's ok though, because I know what my car's capable of doing, and I'm eager to make it's success continue to happen), and because of that...anyone (read you Ed) who does....well we can just settle that on the line...I'm game, are you???
