hey terry how are you? the guy in PA that has that 64 now called me and told me this rediculous story, he was told that this was my dads 64 aluminum car, that my dad had to sell it ,you wound up with it and sold to someone up north who sold it to him . i then corrected him and told him it was a little old lady car from CT. i actually got into an argument with this guy over the origins of this car , he was convinced it was my dads.

Hey Jimi how you doing. Really haven't talked to you since I bought the car. Did you sell the 64 you put together? I really liked that car.

Johnny Labbous won the Quick 32 class at the 1978 IHRA Spring Nationals at Bristol, Tennessee, with his SS/CA Plymouth. That's me squatted on the front row with the white tee-shirt. The first photo was taken at Rockingham I believe.

I scored a beautiful set of Super Trick front runners at Mopars at Big Daddy's a couple of years ago. I traded them off to Dvorak. I used to see them all the time but now that you mention it I haven't seen any in a while...

That was a fun weekend, Jack,,too bad Goodguys never ran that race again on that weekend. When they moved it to the spring,,it wasn't the same.
Keep your Challenger handy,,you know theres a brand new racetrack being built and you might as well make the inaugural event next year,,it should be quite the deal.
Take care,,,,, Danny Durham

Wow! Good memory Paul. Jack Macey, Johns son, gave me those pictures at the Epping divisional this year along with he magazine article of that piece of history.

Also brought Mr Suraci himself to the races with him and got to hear it all first hand! Along with a day full of other old stories of the good old days...
Made my weekend!

John,

I have known your beautiful 'Cuda since John Macey raced it at Dover Drag Strip.
It was one of my favorite cars as well as his very cool SS/GA Hemi wagon.
Then on to Billy Marshall and eventually Frank Lupo.
I'm glad it has a good home and I wish you luck.

Thanks Frank. Always good to hear old stories. If you see the car at any Division 1 races come over and BS for awhile.

I see Bill Marshall at most of the races, I think he still hates Hemis thanks to this car, LOL. and I got to talk Hemi with Frank Lupo at great length down at Atco. Super Stock racing a Hemi isn't the easiest thing or most practical way to Super Stock race, but as far as having fun, and the stories I hear, it has to be one of the neatest ways to go racing. If you don't mind working on it anyway, LOL!!

Re: pics of mopars

Paul,
Thanks for the picture of the wagon at Dover no less!
That car was too cool and so was Dover. I will never forget that place.

John,
Frank Lupo is an old friend of mine and he has a lot great stories to tell, especially about the '64 Dodge. If that car could talk!

The next time I'm at the track, I will stop by to check you and the 'Cuda out.

You know,,,,,,,,
I forgot to ask,,,,,,,,,,,but was John Macey into Heavy Rock,,,,,
Led Zeppelin III was released in January 1970,,,,,,,,

The lettering on the 66' Belvedere resembles the lettering on
the Led Zeppelin III album color.......

On the Frank Lupo 'Cantankerous',,,,,it may have not been the quickest
M/P at Dover,,,,,,,but it sure was one of the loudest..
