Or, to avoid burned plug wires, they could have used a hemi instead.

Oh well, at least we eventually got the K-car.

hey, K cars had hemi's too...........................;)

I had a red 64 SS Nova with that exact drive train. (327/365 4 speed, 373 gear)

I once owned a 1968 Plymouth Fury III Fast Top, so I would love one with the same build specs as the '68 Hemi Dart & Cuda Super Stock package.

Or, since my '89 Olds 88 Royale sedan came from the factory with the 3.8L Buick V6 in it, it should be easy to swap in a complete T-Type or Grand National turbo setup.

Calling whay MP offered a "kit" would be optomistic. It was like 2 pieces of steel and a welder, minus the welder. :)

1970-1971 Maverick / Comet with 302W 4bbl instead of 2bbl. Maybe even the Shelby GT-350 351W engine or Boss 302 in the 1970 model. How about a Boss 351 in the '71 models?

'69 AMX with Superstock cross-ram 390 engine. 1970 also since AMC wanted (and tried) to get away with it.

'71 - '74 Gremlin and Hornet 401.

Mopar 6-packs in anything they fit in in the years offered.
Same with the Z-28 302's & even LT-1, any model for years offered. If it fit under the hood, it was good!

Boss 429 F-100 in 1969-1970.

The 401 Gremlins were made. Randall AMC in Arizonia made them ( I think...getting old lol )

And now, for something completely different...

The Mopar factory had a few prototype turbocharged slant six motors. They never did anything (production-wise) with them.

I have an acquaintence who has a 1966 Valiant with a turbocharged slant six that makes a little over 500 horsepower with the 2-valve, cast iron head, and one 4-bbl Holley carb.

It is all-steel and weighs a little over 2,800 pounds.

It runs in the tens at 127 mph in the quarter-mile, on gasoline. That's with a power-robbing 727 and 2.76:1 final drive gearing.

If a "backyard mechanic" can get this kind of output from a hairdryer-equipped, leaning tower of power, just think what the factory could have done...

1969 Torino Talladega with the BOSS 429 instead of the Mustang getting the BOSS 429 I have never understood or known the reasoning behind this...

275hp 273 D Dart motor in an A 990 defactored to 198hp....killer U/SA.

Re: Musclecars That Should Have Been Made

Don't know if it's already been posted, but for me it a 1967 Mustang with a 427 SOHC.

Also would have been cool to see a fox body mustang with a 351W option or, even better, a fuel injected 460....

Smart car with a Mercedes Benz V-12
Citroen CV2 with a 426 Hemi
Fiat 500 526 Hemi for Factory Showdown class. I'm sure Mr Teuton can influance Mother Mopar to slip that one in at 375 HP.
Pretty much anybody can slip in a Randall American 401 gremlin. There was no way to
actually document them. They were low 12 sec cars out of the dealership (for $2,995).

Since you brought it up, A man named Gordie Chilson built and sold more 401 Gremlins through his dealership in northern Pennsylvania than Randall ever did.

Well,,, in that case Jim,, you need to go over to youtube and type in; Roadkill episodes 29 & 30 and check out that bad boy the 2 editors of Hot Rod magazine threw together,,, and where they drove it. Very entertaining. I've followed all the episodes of Roadkill, and they are a hoot to watch. Check it out when you can.
