Well the air went from 2200' on the first run to 3100' the second. We are now #53 in qualifying so I think we are in the show! A couple of notes--Al Corda is having problems right off the starting line. I talked to him after the 2nd run and he thinks he knows what is wrong, but he offered no information!
Johnny Dikema is running Mary Ann Method's car. Cummings is in a black Camaro that has Emmons on the side. There are still some games being played until class tomorrow. We will be getting our 3rd run shortly, then class will be laddered from there. |

We run class at 8:30 in the morning. Quite a few picked up this last session. Just waiting to see who we run and starting on "Sex at the Racetracks"

I'm the picture guy and not a racer, but I've seen enough to know that NHRA needs to do something about the horsepower for the new cars, different classes. When you have, I think, 8 ss/ah cars that can't even qualify, because they can't run enough under the index. Those are some of the best cars to take pictures of and they won't even be around for class. But they do have the HEMI Challenge.
Good luck to all. Can't wait for the Hawk & Cook Mustang, even if it is a new one. Saw some pictures at Budds Creek while they were building it, plus what Ken put on the other day. |

Sorry everyone, I only got one more in car cam today. I broke a trans, don't have a spare, but I should have it fixed. Not sure if it will be done for class tomorrow, but I should make the eliminator.
Its been a rough day. Mike Iacono hurt the engine in the DP. You can't meet a nicer guy. He hurt the engine in the DP, but instead of working on his stuff first he lets me use his lift in is trailer, his tools and then helps me pull the trans. He does not stop there, he gets the parts I need and Darren Smith from Pro Trans to fix it. What can I say, he is the best. I noticed lots of parts breakage, more so than last year. This in car cam brought to by Mike Ficacci. . I will try to get some picture that people are asking for and I will try to shoot a video of Stock and Super stock coming to the lanes. There should be enough down time for me to get some more in car videos. |

Tom,
Did not see any T-Bolts here. Jared, David is running a 6.1. He is taking allot of heat for going fast, but that's what Barton does. They make hp and they go fast. Its funny, no one gave a dam when Al Carp's Hemi Coronet could not come close to the DP's. Now that he builds a DP, they give him a hard time. |

By the reactions of everyone who runs the 6.1, I would say that was what Barton was running!
b By the amount of clean-up time after Todd Hoven made his last pass, I would say he probably blew something up. Also there was clean-up after Bowling went down. I don't know of anybody else who tore up anything today. But there is always tomorrow! We get to run Atwill in class tomorrow the # 2 guy in B/SA. Fun, fun! Well, they have already called AA/SA, A/SA, B/SA and C/SA to the lanes with plans to begin promptly at 8:30. It is about 10 degrees hotter than yesterday morning. The air is already 2100' and rising. It is supposed to be 97 degrees today. I don't ever remember Indy being this hot. Well, I am going up to watch us get our butts beat since we have Atwell first round.

Well, I was right, we got our butts beat! But Larry red-lighted and then the car lost power. So now he has to work on it again. Not many surprises in Round 1. Lind from Sweden got timed out. I wonder if they use the same timing system there. Pouciou lost on a hole shot. I think the next round should have some better races. We just came back for a snack and to cool off and will go back and watch Round 2. More later.

Boy is it hot here! Watched Round 2 and came back to the motorhome to cool off. Well it is down to 2 in A/S--Kevin Helms and Caleb McFarland. Do we get to keep the booze if the winner is not 21??
There have been lots of redlights here this weekend. And really bad ones at that. Hopefully everything will go better in eliminations. Well we are done for the day except for watching the rest of class. Then Mopar is putting on a little thing this afternoon that we plan to attend. We also have an invitation to the Ford thing tonight. More later. Here are a few more pics. |

As you can see I got my trans fixed. Darren Smith from Pro Trans got in at midnight and finished the trans by 4 am. Mike and Darren help me get the trans in this morning and I just made first rd class. I am lucky to still be in. Charlie Fitzsimmons blew the tires away, otherwise I had no chance of getting by him.
The weather is hot and slow. the numbers for second rd class Temp 87 humd 46 Bar 29.11 DA 3437 I will try to get an in car cam today, but I have been so busy I have not had the time. They just called third rd class, be back later.... |

Well I guess Dad, Brett and Grandpa, Barry will have to drink this bottle of Kentucky Bourbon for Caleb. Great job and a nice kid! Kevin blew his up at about the 1000' and still has to tear down tomorrow, too. Those 2 are the only ones I have heard about so far. Keith Lynch spun a bearing this morning, but he has gone home to fix it.
In Super Stock, Emmons blew up the car that they bought from Jeff Dona in time trials. More later. |

They just finished the last class stock final and man is it hot. I have two in car cams, one is the A/SA final, the other is our very own Tom Sheehan. I also have some video of the B/SA final, but not sure how well it will turn out.
I shot some video of the staging lanes with the few rounds of stock class left and a drive around of the staging lanes for super stock. I also have some photos, just give me some time to edit and upload everything, check back in a few hours. |

Ok folks, here is my first multimedia of the day. I tried to figure out a good camera placement in David Barton's car, but this was the best I could come up with.
This is the final in A/SA. I think the view in Tom Sheehan's SS is pretty cool. ..... The photos are Stock class eliminations in the staging lanes. I have more pictures and videos of stock class in the staging lanes, along with the Super Stock video in the staging lanes, but I have to go to the Ford Town Hall at 7. I will be back later with more.... much more. |

Stockers in the staging lanes getting ready to do battle. I tried to do a video of the B/SA final, but the in car camera does not work well in shots like this. I kept it short, but wanted everyone to get a feel for the race.
