I couldn't stay anymore, the weather was unfortunately the winner and we made the move back home. Too bad for the racers who are not told anything. The shining star in all this is that I've gotten to go to our favorite restaurant Shady Maple Buffet.Claude p.s. for once I agree with Mr. Perrone NHRA put the fork in it.

I got the same text that pros would run at 1:30. There was another text that said 1st round of stock and superstock would be random pairs. Does this mean no qualifying runs?

This is like watching some type of hostage crisis or mountain climbing rescue on CNN.

And with the amount of rain there, there may be some tow rig rescues .............

X2, everyone will be in the same boat( no pun intended) and most everyone have enough data to dial it anyway. Probably be some good racing!

As for the first round... whatever you want to call it. I don;t know who finally realized the atrocity of going right to first round, but whoever got it changed to at least give us a time run... THANK YOU.

Well, at least the loyal paying spectator was rewarded with ONE FULL ROUND of outstanding Pro qualifying, so all tickets are validated. Thank you for your patronage, and please come back again soon. That will be $50 please...

Agree as a spectator. Looking at drc, there were some really great runs in funny car and dragster. LOL

Heard announcer say something over the AUDIOCAST live that spectator stubs to be held onto for credit. Did not get all details, but sounded like they were trying to do the right thing

Re: Live from Reading, Pennsylvania - NHRA Keystone National

I think the fans are getting the short end here! Gonna certainly keep a lot from coming back or at least buying any tickets ahead of time! Friday tickets credited towards Sat. since you came here and didn't see anything. Oh but you have to pay the difference though!! Now you got to see a couple Top Fuel dragsters and funny cars go 1,000 ft and the Pro Stock cars and motorcycles take 1 lap. That was worth $50 to $65? They should have offered anyone with a Fri/Sat ticket a 1/2 price entry on Sunday!!!!
I was just at NHMS last weekend and the track offered Friday all day practice and Cup Knockout Qualifying, Sat. 250 lap NCWT Race, 100 lap Whelen asphalt modified Race, & 50 lap American Canadian Tour Race. Sun. 300 lap Sprint Cup Race Reserved.Start/Finish line seat. AND a FanVision combo Video and Scanner with Headset for the entire weekend, all for $99 !! Now that's how you fill the grandstands and keep them coming back!
As a 20+ year racer, I kinda know what we're biting off when we enter these races! No sense bitching, we know weather is not under anyone's control! You just have to hope they are fair to us as competitors! My 25 cents :-)

Re: Live from Reading, Pennsylvania - NHRA Keystone National

I had the no TT deal back in 2010 or so.Missed the first TT figuring I'd get the second one. Rain prevented that. So I went to my old time tickets (I kept them all) and found weather from a previous year that closely matched. Put 13.93 on the window first rd. and went 13.94 with a teen light.Lucky. maybe but it worked for me. Was also there the year we finished on Weds. Started out two Weds. before at Cecil, and went to the Grove. Was away for 15 days. Had to call my Dr. to send prescription to local pharmacy and made two trips to the laundromat. That was an adventure. But it's part of the game, you just do what you have to do. Just sayin..............

Re: Live from Reading, Pennsylvania - NHRA Keystone National

Good morning kids - I know today is the day when at 6:30 in the morning I hear the Jet dryer running up and down the track .Yeah- it will certainly be a long day for Stock/SS but we've been here all week so what the heck .I was starting to think we are on the grounds just to vacation - eat rich food and just hangout and be lazy with some of you downing large amounts of adult beverages along with the food .

All that and I'm glad to see the boss finally surfaced last night - he doesn't know it yet but I'm docking him for shirking his duties this past week .Hopefully he's past his funk period about breaking his pride and joy Shelby last weekend and will help me out some - this rain thing all week is hard - even I can only BS so much ! ! ! !

Back a little later after the morning qualifiers ...........

PS- In case you're wondering - no cereal this AM - my crew chief ( Joe Burns ) had his wife bake some blueberry/cranberry muffins that are lo cal and actually taste good .Who knew ? Thanks Joey ............

PSS - Just for the record its NOT raining .

Re: Live from Reading, Pennsylvania - NHRA Keystone National

Finally -- We got out on the track this morning - both Stock and S/S went out 1-2 and the fields are set .We've got a short field in Stock - 39 cars with several more not making the call - one noteable is David Barton who couldn't make the run .

Low qualifier Don Fezell aka ' Daddy Warbucks ' Mustang Cobra Jet went a very fast 1.224 under to earn the bye in rd1 .

Bunch of heads-up runs first round -- Boburka vs Langford in FS/C
Bodreau vs Eddie Bednez in A/SA
Thibeault vs the terminator in B/SA
Its gonna be a long day as we are to run rd1 till tonight .

Back a little bit later .........

PS-In case you're wondering it wasn't mineshaft conditions this am but was decent with track conditions very good .52 degrees- 78% humidity -.30vp - 29.65 barometer - 400'DA

Yes. They run a qualifier after the second pro round, then round 1 of eliminations after the pros are done.
