Re: Horsepower on tuesday
Isn't this the B/Modified car? Not much to tear down in that class. Valve layout, CID, weight and fuel check is about it. Modified cars with auto trans may be up to 5 percent or 250 lbs lighter than class (2750) and may be under class minimum,

Then a plethora of reasons/excuses as to why that never happened. The Corvette dude did the right thing. Passed tech and was awarded 10 hp. 1.20 is an awesome feat for that car/engine combination. |

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
I wasn't there, but I believe Cody was the only racer to go 1.20 under at Woodburn. I could be wrong, but just trying to keep the facts straight.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
I know I have not raced for years, but I try and keep up with with what going on with no dog in this fight. But what sucks in this deal is that it did not come apart. Other racers that have made the same -1.20 hit earlier in the year came apart that day, then had to put it back together so they could race the next day, this did not happen and this car went to the finals. They may have to show up at the next race apart, but it is not fair to the racers that did it right. Tom

LODRS event Denver Saturday June 15th Tony Hernandez Sets D/S record @ 11.008 -1.212 Under the 12.22 index and tears down for new record. ( since he is advised he will be getting torn down decides might as well make it a record.) |
Re: Horsepower on tuesday
Tony took the record though so he would have had to tear down for that.

Mike Grahm with the 302 Jeff Teuton with his Challenger early this year are two that i can think of. All can be found on class racer archives.

Keep in mind he was torn down for the -1.20 run, just set the record, might as well since he had to teardown anyway. If he did not have to teardown might not have for the record.. |
Re: Horsepower on tuesday
It will be interesting too see if NHRA has a look at this car in Seattle after the 1.20 under run and adding 10 hp. They have the manpower. Grant

They are running it in H/SA and still qualified #2 at -1.01 under.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
Issue arose as to whether the tech card was properly filled out and I also am told the car in question is in tear down too.
Tech card supposedly had the wrong HP written on it but the weight was right for the “new” HP. I’m at home, not in Seattle, so maybe someone else out there has more info or more accurate info. *shrug* |
Re: Horsepower on tuesday
Was told that Cody may be in tear down in Seattle today as well...
I’m not there so can’t confirm. Maybe someone who is there can chime in. ^^Apparently Jared and myself have impeccable timing. |

NHRA qualifying results are different from DRC.

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
After Stock qualifying today I saw the 'vett being towed back from the tech area. It had fender covers trapped under both sides of the hood like it had been worked on and the hood just dropped down.
Round 1 of Stock is 9:15 tomorrow morning. We will see. |
Re: Horsepower on tuesday
I confirmed with a tech official that they were indeed torn down and although he didn't go into specifics about what was looked at he just said "alot".

Re: Horsepower on tuesday
They must have passed. They just lost to Justin Lamb on a double breakout.
