Re: Original hemi dart information
Lightweight, that thing sure sits high in the back...got anymore pics of it.
Any luck finding one of those '77 bracket race programs...you would think there would be a name in the entries list? |

Ya it sat real high with no weight in it. I changed rear springs a few years back, it still sits high, but not as high as that. I can slide under it without a creeper tho,----- at least I used to be able to-----. No luck finding one of those programs yet, still looking. If you or anyone has or locates one ,PLEASE let me know. Your right, the name of the driver/owner should be in that program for sure. I believe that would be the missing key I'm looking for to start opening doors. I have been in contact with Bob Frey & he is going to see if he can help me out also. Bob probably has done more commentating in NED than anyone out there. liteweight here a pic taken in 2008??? Not as high but still tall. This is the stance most often seen with one of these cars still retaining leaf springs http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/...Summer06-1.jpg http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/...Summer06-2.jpg resto circa 1986 http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_0022.jpg |
Re: Original hemi dart information
I wonder if your '68 Hemi Dart ever made it to any of these events at Englishtown Raceway Park back in 1977...

Re: Original hemi dart information
BO29 sold at Mecum for $69k. Nice buy. A lot of mods but real is real.
Any photo's posted of the car as driven by Al Smokey Cerrone or painted up as the Dairy Queen. Bet you would have some fun on a Friday night cruise. Lets see who beats Hemi Moose to post one! |
Re: Original hemi dart information
I think Jimi, Mark & Paul were all talking earlier about the Al Cerrone B029 '68 Hemi Barracuda back on pages 11-12 of this thread...here's one of the Phil Cerrone B029, I'm not sure if it's the same car or not, Paul would probably know more about these cars history.

Quality effort way ahead of it's time.
Has to be a great assurance knowing how it was done. |

Don't remember if this one has been posted.

Re: Original hemi dart information
that's the demented dart. Dick ran it for a while, don't know if he bought it off of Cam or what arrangement. Dick drove the Old Trapper cars too for Jim Rhonagon.

Re: Original hemi dart information
Looking at all these old pictures brings up a question.
Does anyone know when the numbering system went to being assigned by the division? Today, if a car has a number of 3500 you know it's from division 3, etc. I realize that sometimes a racer will choose to get a division number other than where they reside but I haven't noticed that it's all that prevalent. Just curious. |

No new info cept I've emailed the infamous Bob Frey to see if he can do some digging in his stuff. For those that are unaware, Bob Frey is probably the most renowned Drag Race historian around. He is definately true blue to the sport Time for a cold one from the fridge.Either that or I might just get in it for awhile. liteweight http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_0028.jpg http://i1115.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_0030.jpg |
Re: Original hemi dart information
If your down south right now you should check out a few auto salvage yards to see if they have any nice rust free '68 Dart, '68 Barracuda, '64 Belvedere, '64 Savoy, '64 Dodge 330 rust free bodies or shells...the stuff is getting hard to find nowadays.

Re: Original hemi dart information
Anyone know anything about this '68 Hemi Dart that was restored at Bob Moshers shop in SoCal...heard it was an original L023, anyone know the history on it.

The salvage lots here were full of some really nice classics and rods that are by now a stick of rebar somewhere. I know one guy that lost a real 427 Fairlane to 19 feet of water. NEVER asked him what his insurance gave him or did with the car. You could see the pain when he talked about it. |

Re: Original hemi dart information
