I have the complete Alf Wiebe system on my Chevelle. It is the original type that Alf built.
I just got word from NHRA that I will no longer be able to run my car after April 30, 2009 with this setup.

I talked to Alf and He said that He is in the process of building a new rear suspension kit that will be legal in A body cars.

Why are Cal-Trac bars legal? They adjust the pinion angle on leaf spring cars, no???

This is a little confusing to me.

Cal-Track bars do NOT adjust pinion angle. No more than a slapper bar.

While I am not surprised... how can they allow something and then renege on it like that?

That is a very expensive setup, and it sounds like a number of racers are getting screwed in that decision.

The caltracs do not adjusts the pinoin angle, the spring perches are welded to the housing and there is no rule on pinion angle.Yet,lol

I won't run a class. I'll put a bigger turbo on it and go take money from kids in Honda's. And probably use it for a daily driver.

Hey Phillip, FWD classes have already been cut from 16 to 5 classes and combined autos and sticks. How are you gunna like it when RWD classes go to one pound breaks? Combine autos and sticks? Your next pal. Jim

Alf builds one system that works with the high power A bodies front and rear suspension. It really works. The A body twist is eliminated. The cars hook in most car washes. The front is up in the air at the top end catching air. His system takes out the anti dive and increases the aero dynamics. When I changed to his new system last year, I gained 2.5 miles per hour in the traps.

I have run a rear Weibe system since I started running my A body 6 years ago. The only reason to not buy one is that you want to have the pride that I designed my own system or I don't have the money to buy a complete system. I just figured how many years can I race? I want my car to run. I don't need to reinvent the wheel. He builds a proven system.

If you ever get to spend time with him, he is as straight a person that you will find. He will help you at his own expense. What a great guy.
