In case you all haven't noticed, Division 3 has been snubbed by whoever was/is in charge of posting photos on DRC.
NO PHOTOS have been posted from the last 2 Division 3 LODRS events on DRC.
NONE!
:(

Hi Alex,

Just to update you on the DRC situation and the Div.3 photographer. In 2010, I took over doing photos for DRC and NHRA after the passing of Bob Hesser which started at Norwalk and i went to every Lucas event, while my partner covered the ET finals. I was under the impression that I was hired by Jay to take over that position. I met alot of good ppl in Div. 3 and saw alot of faces that I had not seen in quite sometime over my 21 years in this business. I was very honored to be able to take over for Bob and be the official photographer for Div 3 and Div. 2, as I have been for the last 5 years. At the end of the year, I found out that Auto Imagery who Bob worked for was going to take over Div. 3 again. I found that out by a link on a website, no communication from Jay whatsoever! Not one word after emails and phone calls to him. So after working out a deal to cover Norwalk and Chicago for auto imagery this year, then I find out on the internet again that Auto Imagery is no longer taking over Div. 3 but Kevin Pepra is. All i can say is good luck with that. We did go to Norwalk this year and posted photos on DRC from there and DRC took it upon themselves to post from Indy. As far as Lucas events after Norwalk and photos not being posted, you prob. will not see any, but I assure you every Lucas event I did, photos were posted just like I do in every Div. 2 Lucas race now. As far as the person who posted the comment in Div. 2 about photographers, I always attend Bradenton, Gainesville and my partner attends the other events, so I am not sure what your talking about.

I'm officially passing the D3 torch to you Alex....

just kidding around Alex..............I'll still post when I can

Remember... any pic is better than no pics!

Thomas -- No need to take the heat ! ! In my "Live from Columbus" there were 58 photos posted by me personally and another 18 posted by Stefan -- plenty of photos to go -- and many more than DRC or NHRA would have put up ...............I'm not sure why some of these folks have their underwear bunched up ......................

Jack & Tom ,

You guys have done a great job and show many more pictures than ever before ... I wonder where all these people were when we had NO- Photo's ? Give me a break , these guys do this because they Love Racing and no-money for thier time .... I guess we have too many experts and races can't take good pictures ...???

Forget these jokers and keep doing what you guys do best, keep us informed & updated on what's really happening ? Yes, I think there's some jealous people because Stock & Superstock , Comp. are getting some needed attention & Ink .... We don't get any TV coverage, small dragster coverage and no-press coverage ....

The photo's have been great along with the reporting ... Like Alex, I second the motion to get Alkey Alex on board ASAP ... It's 100 %
better than you now have and he loves doing it .. Lighten Up !!!

By the way this also includes, Toby, Michael, Larry, Ken and anyone else doing the reporting, we do appreciate what you guys do....

THANKS ........................

Alex, Toby,Thomas, Jack , The Hills and I'm forgetting many others who've contributed to our enjoyment of races that most of us aren't able to attend, do to work, health, economy or worse mycarisbrokenatis, I have to say that we are quite spoiled that these people take the time to send us report and pictures that we can all enjoy. Please accept my humble thanks for your hard work. Thank You. Claude Ruel p.s you can never satisfy everybody.

Re: Photos from the Division 3 race at Columbus!

For those who dont know. Alex is 15 and has been into racing and pictures of race cars since he was little. Every drag race, car show, rod run, whatever that I attended, Alex was there since he was of walking age. I always carried a 35mm Canon AE-1 camera (still do when I have time), which meant I had to pay for double prints of every picture! You should see some of his scrapbooks. He has spent a lot of time, trying different settings, snapping motion shots, adjusting for lighting, etc. I think he has a great eye for what makes a good photo.

BUT, this is fun for him. I dont think he is interested in going to work just yet, lol.

Thanks for the positive remarks,

Wade O

Wade,
Alex does a great job. I started when I was 15, and I was always around drag racing because my dad was an avid bracket racer before he passed away. A bunch of people on here have seen my site and my work. I am proud to be track photographer for No Problem Raceway for the last three years. I do sell mine, so mine does have the watermark across my pics to where nobody can steal mine. I'm glad I have surrounded myself with the great people at NPR, and also some of the best photographers in the country have helped me along the way (you know who you are if youre reading this).

Alex, doing a great job. Keep it up bud!

Thank you for the explanation Brian.
It smacked of something Jay would have had his hand in.
We all know just how much he cares about the traditional class racers who have supported division 3 throughout the years.

Re: Photos from the Division 3 race at Columbus!

FYI,

For the third or fourth event in a row now division 3 racers have been snubbed once again by not having any participant LODRS photos showcased on DRC.
No photos from Bowling Green.
We all work very hard to race and even harder to get what little sponsorship aid we receive. One of the best ways we can repay a sponsor is with ink.
Apparently division 3 LODRS racers are not worthy of any.
I'm certain the division 3 host tracks will be dissapointed as well when they learn that LODRS events are not getting any exposure on DRC as well.
What a shame that such a small, yet very important item which needs addressing by the division director can't be followed up on. :(

Maybe it is time for another USCN.

Re: Photos from the Division 3 race at Columbus!

Alex, another USCN would be great IF it truly impacted NHRA.Like having it on the same dates as an NHRA national event in Div. 3 so that 200+ Stock and 200+ S/S cars show up,leaving NHRA hanging with a few straglersto fill their fields. But we all know the chances of getting that sort of turnout.I can hear it now:
I have to run the only national event close enough to me
I got all these grade points to go to this national event
That's too far to travel
Anyone can add to this list if they wish.
