How many of you guys complaining have sent your letters to NHRA asking for a horsepower reduction? The system works 2 ways and most engine combos out there have been refactored at one time or another. I heard that if you havn't run at a national event, you are wasting your time sending a letter, but the guys that have will probably have a class average low enough to get a reduction. With the combination of you taking weight out and the other cars getting horsepower, it might tighten up the races a little. OH, and by the way, I think I would not start or include the phrase "NHRA are you blind or Stupid?" in your letter. And If you say that you shouldn't have to send a letter in to get things even, the system doesn't work that way, so start putting your letters together.

Oh yes, we have written many letters to nhra. And they were very nice letters. You can catch more flies with sugar than vinegar. But Light, Gray and Gracia made it very clear that they were not going to do a thing until the AHFS was tiggered. And they had no intention of removing weight to balance the old v. new cars. Period end of discussion - go away. You know what I mean. And finally the poor AHFS was NOT designed to correct abuses by nhra. It's more of a tweaking system. Any other good ideas? We're open for them.

Im willing to bet that no one does anything except complain. It just in their nature even though they could stay home for the rest of the year and/or run IHRA for awhile as they keep the FI cars seperate from the older stuff but we both know that wont happen....lol. NHRA has everyone by the "Nuts" !

They may have at one time but that is no longer true. You know the old saying: You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. How much do you want to bet?

Let's see. In answer to your question, Kenny :

Larry Griffith runs 9.88 in A/SA , at Indy, and says he was 200 lbs. heavy

Willing to bet is just a saying but it will make the difference on running an NHRA car or an IHRA car for me. Im on the last "Hurah" and cant afford to do it more than once. I will be surprised if very many write letters and complain. Most do NOT want to upset the apple cart and are afraid of reprisals from the "King Tuts" from Calif. All of this BS makes the .90 classes look smarter all of the time or just build a street rod instead. .

My car is always 200 or so heavy. But then we know what the problem is. A change of driver could fix that.
