To interject some humor here, at Indy one year Joe Lunati laughed when I told him I wanted to race a 351C 2V, he told me it might not even make the factory horsepower!

Ok, enough already!

Quit beating on these guys that have purchased these cars....
I'd love to have one just to say I had one, and I'm no proponent of these as stockers.

IMO - stock & super stock as we've known it (since the beginning) has long gone left the barn years ago.

Stockers now days are super stockers, and super stockers are now comp. cars...

and it's all the fault of nhra / ihra that they have allowed this bs to go on as long as they have.

When it comes right down to it, does it really matter anymore?.... All of these class cars are bogus and that's what the racers wanted.

I think mopar should put a 4 and or 5 speed sticks in this car as an option... as they are with a 2 speed auto they are fast..very fast..this is going to be interesting going head to head with the cobra jets in aa/sa...this is fun just gotta have the $$$...Luke SS 311

If Andy's dad builds an SS car with "any compression" he is going to get in trouble at tear down. :D

NO its NOT enough. All of these new cars are making all the other cars obsolete in their respective class. Get the HP factors right, fair and I will shut up. NOT before then.

X2 I will also stop if nhra dose the right thing. Believe me when I say nhra reads this forum, that was told to me a couple of years ago as I was told "watch what you say" so I am letting my feelings be known besides sending my complaint in writing. I will not sit by and watch bad hp after bad hp continue year after year. It needs fixing now.

Re: 100957.00 really

The sad part is the racers who are affected will not stick together. Not enough are complainning or plan to just park their rides until this BS is corrected. The only other option is to race some IHRA but that is not something everyone can do due to the lack of events in the west. Besides who knows if IHRA will even be around as a true sanctioning body after this year or next ? Isnt it about time for some of you to have a back bone !

You are touching on a subject that many don’t want to admit or swallow especially for those who are heavily vested in older combos.
Class racing like ALL other forms of motorsports be it SCAA, IMSA NASCAR you name it they (we) all continue to evolve. Remember where this all started? Win Sunday sell Monday. If there is going to be factory support which IMHO is necessary for survival of the sport the factories will want their stuff to have an edge otherwise why get involved. If you threw a couple hundred horsepower on one of the DP’s and it ended up way down the qualifying list what’s Joe average spectator (assuming we have any LOL) going to think? ….Challenger is a dog I want a new Mustang. I think Ford really got it right now with the mod motor K car. It will be fast and readily available to racers and the public. For those of you who think we will survive as a sport flogging our 30-50 year old muscle cars and expect the old cars to stay on top is wishful thinking.
