God bless his family. I remember waiting in line for winner's circle pictures behind him at the 1978 Sportsnationals and when he won Indy a few years later

Although we hadn't seen S.E. for many years, he remained a friend in our hearts. Anyone who knew S.E. had to respect his integrity and character. He was a true follower of Christ.

Prayers and thoughts to Martha, Verne and his entire family. We know he will be missed.

Our prayers go out to S.E. and his family at this time of great sorrow. The drag race community has lost a devoted racer who loved the sport for many years.
