For one who is so young with such a limited Win record you sure are a expert on everything!

Yes, but unlike you I use my real name when I post.

And what does that have to do with you being a expert?

Re: Congrats drew skillman!!

I started going STK/SS racing in 1992 with my dad and others. Over the past 18 plus years I have learned from some of the best racers and engine builders this sport has to offer. Wins have nothing to do with knowing the inn’s and outs of SS and STK. There are dozens of great SS/STK racers that have few or no wins.

I’m not an expert just well educated about SS/STK

I know Ray has been racer all his life and is a very friendly person at the track. I have no problem with them, they seem to be good people with some racing background. But what they did is a slap in the face to other racers with that combo.

Charley Bob real names no games

If Ray is having a good time and if his son and Drew are having fun Ray will be in it for the long haul. He is into racing and collecting Muscel Cars.

I don't doubt for one minute that Ray and his grandson are very good people. I've never met them so I can't comment on their character. He, however, by my definition of the word is not a racer. You said it yourself and I quote,"he raced ASA,owned and drove (how long, how well, he owned a car), bought a speedway in Indiana (again, he owned it), he is into racing and collecting Muscel (sic) Cars (again, he's into racing and collecting)".
I say again, I've never met the man and I don't mean any malice in this post but when it's all said and done, to quote you one more time "If they are having a good time and having fun they will be in it for the long haul".
I've been here for 40 years buying, building and driving. I don't expect them to be doing this in 5 and I hope I'm wrong.

This is kinda funny as who will be doing it in 5 years. From the sound of it, your age is some what close to mine and Ray's ( I have been doing it since 1959 and was at Detroit Dragway the night it opened in August 1959) so at our age who knows if we will be around in 5 years and I am sure that when YOU stop having fund and spending your $$$ you may not want to do it any longer or who knows if NHRA and the races tracks will be here.

Well when you look at it that way I guess I'll have to agree with you.
I'm not that old. I started in 69.

At the end of the day what Skillman did was outstanding!

Who thinks Skillman's car's engines being built by a shop that builds fast engines much like most of the older cars racing ( instead of just being run like they came out of the box) is wrong? What's the saying, if somebody with the same combo as yours but is a whole lot faster? Quit crying and go work on your stuff? Isn't that what everybody else says? What is different here?

Well Ed, I guess that would depend on what your personal definition of a Racer is.
