Kenny was such a great friend, great racer and one (if not the best) painter I knew. He always had a smile on his face and you could not help but have a good time when he was around.

"Only the good die young"...RIP Kenny

This truly is sad, i always thought the world of lil Kenny, his Dad and i go way back, of coarse at our age, a lot of us go way back. May God bless the whole Koonce family, and to lil Kenny, i know you will be looking over a lot of your friends, May God look over you for all of us!

My wife and I just returned from Kenny's funeral and it was truly a wonderful homegoing. His casket was decorated with various racing decals, his name, class and car number. There was standing room only at the service and the procession was at least 2 miles long. There were many past and current racers in attendance.

Kenny's girls were little troopers today and his family seems to be doing as well as can be expected. Please keep them in your prayers for the coming weeks and months will be trying.

RIP my friend.

Today at Kinston Drag Strip the announcement of Kenny's passing was made and of course KDS was Kenny's home track for many years. I can't tell you how many people I spoke with that were unaware of his passing and how shocked everyone was.

Everyone reminisced fond memories of him, his friendships, and his wheelstanding A/SA '69 Camaro from years ago. Everyone was telling their favorite stories about him, and those stories brought smiles and laughter.
