Re: Cornhusker Raceway Park
Does anyone remember a 1969 Camaro sponsored by Mac's Chevrolet. If so go to youtube and search for 1969 Mac's Chevrolet NHRA Divison 5 super stock camaro 427. Someone found the car and is in the process of restoring to it to as raced in 1969. I invited the owner to check out this forum, hope everyone gets a chance to check out the video, Al Howe

[QUOTE=Hemi Moose;319196]I think I remember seeing that car, someone else on here was talking about it on another thread...was it a red '69 Camaro with some side damage.
White with red graffics on it, and yes the passenger door area had some damage to it |

V/PS, set that record on June 12, 1970. I remember it well, because while I was there, where no one could find me, my wife went into labor and delivered our second son. OOPS. Well, my Dad liked the trophy, but didn't appreciate me using his 6 month old car to drag race.:eek: Had to stand on the brakes 5 or 10' before the traps, just to get within the ?.2 sec? bracket. Would have won a bunch of money, had I raced Stock Eliminator that day. I broke the existing Nat'l Record by a full 2 seconds. The day kept getting hotter and the car kept running better. It was a blazing fast:rolleyes::rolleyes: 69 Rambler American, with a 199 cu in 6 cyl, with an automatic trans. Fun day. Thanks for the memories. Would've been nice if my name wouldn't have been misspelled, though. Oh well, I know it's me and so do lots of my friends. |
Re: Cornhusker Raceway Park
Cool story Magicman...with all that was going on that day I'm sure you will never forget it.

Robert Schlegelmilch's pristine 57 Chevy F/MP car getting ready to make a pass. Looking at the side of the car and you can see the reflection of cars in the staging lanes.
