Did Helms and Patterson only race to the 1000 ft based on thier MPH?

I would say because of the lights (Helms had him) they both let off trying to avoid 1.100 under

But they both got an EXTRA 1.25% for going 1.100 under

We were already going to get 1.25% now it will be 2.5% in December
