Has anyone contacted Scott or others at Jerico, and what are they saying? I have not had any problem with my Jerico but now you have me worried! I use a Hurst/Mr. Gasket V-Gate2 with stops.

Jerico fingers are being made from a cast 8620 steel. Does not have the strength or ductility needed. They have many surface cracks on them right off the shelf, we have done countless dye penetrant tests on them.

I'm obtaining new ones that are CNC machined from U.S made high strength billet SAE 4150 chromoly steel by a professional racing team.

One new finger in bag, the other we tried to break in the flat where the threads start since that is where they always seem to break. We used a big wrench with a pipe attached, tried adding heat also and that did not work either.. got it to bend a little bit.

My only concern before ordering a bunch of these is the measurement of the flat area where the shift lever straddles the finger on the outside of the case. I have seen measurements of this area anywhere from .315-.326 on the five fingers I measured today. I would like to settle on a number with a little help from my fellow stick racers. I think I would rather have that be too big than too small and have play in the lever.

I am with greg,, what is up with a racer producing a part that seams to be an issue with these transmissions I have a customer who has gone thru a handful of these and no help from jerico except selling him the same thing that breaks ,,hats off to bobby on solving a problem ,, what happened to the making it right mentality ,, I know a bunch of racers who have gone to a different trans ,, including my customer ,, gmonde

Bobby;the three I have,two brand new,one broken.The two new ones measured .320 and .321,the broken one measured .311[taken at the flat where the arm fits],the other broken one I threw away! I agree,making them a bit larger is better than too small!! ROY.

Best I could tell on my DR4 mfg. 2007 was .312" minimum, maybe up to ..315. Hard to squirm around and get a real good number, but I would say .312" is good.

Racers producing better parts is how most of today's suppliers got their start in business.

I am betting that the OEM finger was designed at .320 but due to the weaker material, it was conforming to the shift lever over time and that's why used/broken fingers are measuring .311-.318. I would prefer to go on the thicker side, say .325, since the flat area is weak and this is where these fingers consistently break. This may require the lever engagement to be file fitted if necessary but I would rather sacrifice lever thickness for finger thickness.
