In the final round, Holbrook clocked a brutal -1.19 8.510/160.19 but Skillman hit an astonishing -1.403 8.597 at 158.06, (remember, Drew is in AA/SA), to win! Congratulations to both for a weekend of drag racing history!

By the way, Randy Hopkins' SS/AAA 2012 Cobra Jet posted an 8.229 in qualifying and ran an early shut-off -1.164 8.236 at only 149 mph after redlighting in the opening round.

Well at least the Super Stock CJ's are still faster than the Stocker CJ's!

From the Bradenton website; here are the Cobra Jet Showdown Rules:

Minimum weights and Index based on engine combination and Stock or Super Stock status:
Engine Combo Wt. w/driver Stk. Index SS Index
3V 4.6 3150 11.9 11.5
427/428 3200 10.6 10.2
5.0L NA 3150 11.4 11
352/363 3200 11.2 10.8
5.0L SC 3325 9.95 9.6
4.0L SC 5.4L 3250 N/A 9.3
2.3L SC 5.4L 3325 10.1 9.9

Holbrook's runs were indeed impressive because his index was 9.95 (5.0L SC 3325 9.95 9.6); but remember the AAA/SA index is 9.70 not 9.95
On the other hand Drew Skillman's index was 9.3 (4.0L SC 5.4L 3250 N/A 9.3). He was in Super Stock trim as noted by the 4.0L blower, and the fact that Stock was not an option as noted by the N/A for Stock index. He definitely was not in AA/SA trim. The qualifying sheet below verifies the indexes that were being used.

Congrats to all of the CJ racers. You guys put on a great show. Looks like most of the "fast" guys all have a Holbrook decal on their car!!

By the way Mike Harris had his big crash at Cecil County not MIR.

Sorry, SuperFan1, (I don't know you real name), but you're wrong.

The qualifying sheet you posted was incorrect. The corrected sheet shows Drew qualified fourth and was on a 10.10 Index. Here are the top six qualifiers, (shown because all were one second under or more).

1. 3334 9.95 13 COBRA JET 302 CHRIS HOLBROOK LIVONIA MI 8.504 9.95 -1.446
2. 373 10.10 12 COBRA JET 331 BILL SKILLMAN GREENWOOD IN 8.764 10.10 -1.336
3. 1574 10.10 10 COBRA JET 330 FRANK MAIOLO MOUNT VERNON NY 8.872 10.10 -1.228
4. 3909 10.10 12 COBRA JET 331 DREW SKILLMAN GREENWOOD IN 8.893 10.10 -1.207
5. 158N 11.20 10 MUSTANG 352 EDDIE BROOKS DEER PARK NY 10.087 11.20 -1.113
6. 5333 9.30 13 MUSTANG 302 RANDY HOPKINS MISION TX 8.229 9.30 -1.071
7. 1225 9.95 MICHAEL HARRIS TELFORD PA 8.916 9.95 -1.034

Also, the rules you posted are from the 2012 event.

I understand you accepted what you found in print but both instances were incorrect. Please don't diminish Drew's effort. The Ford guys, (including Jesse Kershaw), consider this one of their biggest events.

Other than weights, the event uses NHRA rules to the letter; both Skillman and Holbrook were on nine-inchers.

Also, please note my little report offered ETs against current NHRA Indices to avoid confusion since most folks here aren't familiar with the NMRA standards.

Well Brent, nobody is "diminishing" Drew's effort but the problem is with the NMRA not SuperFan1. Someone needs to be correcting them not someone who just takes the information they found on the internet and posting it here.
Maybe Ford Racing should have someone posting the information instead of a sanctioning body that doesn't appear to be able to get the facts straight...

Also, if things are like they were at Milan and Indy last year at least one of the fast cars is running a DOT radial, not slicks.
