Epping has made a ton of improvements and the pit area is like night and day compared to just 2 years ago. Next year will no doubt show even more improvements.

He saw one of Jeanie's books. I have not read it.
Whole wall full of books, and he zeros in on one.

Can't believe you're gonna throw Jeanie under the bus

Oey vey! This rumor stuff just won't end! This is not a recent phenomenon, it goes back to the mid seventies! Every one of these "fire starters" seems to know someone who knows someone that heard from someone else's cousin that has a relative in the building department that the track has been sold but NO ONE has EVER been able to produce ANY documentation to support their "facts" or rumors. This would be funny except that it actually has a harmful effect on the tracks ability to obtain sponsors! With so many jackasses spreading these rumors, potential sponsors naturally back off and don't want to get involved with the track.
All of the New Jersey tracks need your support! Cut the crap, bring your cars out, and race!

50 shades of Gray is a chick book. Not mine. I didn't know it was there. Whole wall of books, floor to ceiling and he sees that one. I don't think that boy is wired just right.

Ok, game on. :D

This is the story as I told it at Tulsa in the Emmons' trailer. Please note that there was a young married couple in there that she swore her ears were made of iron and wouldn't be offended.

I stayed with Ed that weekend instead of bringing my RV. Last minute release from the NHRA kept me from having everything ready, but that is another story.

On Thursday Ed and his wonderful wife, Jeanie, gave us a tour of their home. It is an unbelievably nice home with its own library and even a permanent wooden ladder that moves back and forth. The shelves are filled with many books (Ed is well read) including law books (Ed may be paranoid).

I turned around and saw on a reading table a well worn copy of "50 Shades of Grey." And I mean it was being read closely. It was as dog eared as Fletcher's log book. Note to self: Sleep with back to wall and one eye opened.

Everyone roared with laughter and the young woman was nearly in the floor with tears as Ed went into full denial mode. He said I made it all up and it wasn't true! This was on Saturday.

Sunday morning we headed out with Ed and Jeanie for breakfast when Ed asked where we wanted to go and I mentioned McDonalds was out (hence Jeanie's comment that it must have been Ed's fault). They took us to another favorite dive of theirs. The cook came up and introduced himself as their son. It confused me.

The story about the tour and the book on the table came up. Jeanie actually finished my sentence and said "yeah, 50 Shades of Grey." The look on Ed's face was priceless. He said "my god...it's true??? How come I haven't noticed anything???" I pointed out she hadn't finished the book.

Jeanie was pretty non plussed about it and it was a good thing Ed was sitting down or he would have passed out. It was then that I knew how much I appreciated Jeanie and her ability to overlook our shortcomings.

She is a real gem.

I am going to throw Ed a bone and admit that we have all of the 50 shades books here in the house. My wife has read them all several times. ( NOTE: It did not do me any good as it has not encouraged her to give me any extra attention). I have not read them but from what my wife has told me I will be the first one in line to see the movies. I suspect I may need to goto St Louis to find a XXXXXXX Movie theater to see them. As we don't have those types of places here in the sticks of Southern IL. The one story I do remember hearing is something about sex while flying a helicopter. Cant remember the rest but supermarket romance novels are my wifes thing. Ed buy Jeanie a Kindle from Amazon. Then when you are reading smut books (ooops I mean when she is reading them LOL LOL LOL!!!) nobody will know.

Sorry buddy had to do it. I hope I don't need anything tuned in the near future or I suspect I will be paying dearly to get it done. LOL
