Photos of Super Stock in the lanes for their 2nd qualifying. Right after Super Stock ran and the last class runs for stock, they called it a night. Super Gas was in the lanes but they had to turn them back for the second time today, this time for lightning in the area. Super Gas has to be the step child of NHRA, they have the worst luck of any category, man do I feel for those guys and girls.

Last post for the night. Stock is out first at 8:00am tomorrow, weather permitting.

I only had time to do one in car video. Anthony Bertozzi in his 98 SS/SA Grand Am is your in car cam of the weekend. I will try to get another tomorrow.

I had noticed that Tom Seeman was racing in Stock this weekend; and it seems like only the second time he's raced this year, after Atco. Has he switched from Super Gas?

I thought the Stocker alarms went off really early this morning, but then I realized it was just thunder in the overnight hours. Got a good bit of rain last night. The jet dryer is out on the track now, and I'm sure other equipment was out earlier that you couldn't hear. 50% chance of rain all day long, but yesterday's 80% forecast allowed us to race all day as the storms stayed mainly south of us. Yet another example of how you can't let forecasts rule over you.

Funny that the press release last night said they cut off qualifying due to rain. They actually pulled the plug due to lightning in the area. It was a couple hours before we got any rain. It was all around us though!

We discovered the track has showers, much like Bristol. It was a welcome scraping off of the day's sweat! It's a shame this facility doesn't get more use.

From the ZMax Dragway facebook page:

Had some rain over night, but track crews are hard at work this morning prepping for today's action! Here's the schedule (subject to change):
8:00-10:00am: Hot Rods & Hot Cakes Breakfast (Schumacher hospitality)
1:00 p.m. Pro Qualifying Rd. 3
1:30 p.m. Nitro Qualifying Rd. 3
3:00 p.m. Pro Qualifying Rd. 4
3:30 p.m. Nitro Qualifying Rd. 4
Maybe they'd draw more fans if they acknowledged that there's more here than just a couple of Pro classes. Acter someone asked them "so no sportsman racing?" they gave more of the schedule and classes. Why would you NOT advertise everything you have, or suggest that people not bother to come until 1pm when you're planning on running sportsman and alky cars hours for hours leading up to that? Ugh! Huge pet peeve.

We are up and at em, but nothing is happening yet. No announcements about what is happening today. I am sure they are trying to get the track in racing condition. Yesterday the rubber started coming up and they had to re-do the whole track. Stock is supposed to be out first, so we will be ready!

Found Curt Smith. Alky classes out first, followed by Stock Rnd 1.

Congrats to Don Fezell for his win against us this morning! Larry beat him there by 2 tenths but broke out by .08! Since we had not had a good run to dial off of, I think we did good to get that close on the dial! Oh well, that's racing!

The sun has come out here now, but there is no more sportsmen scheduled until 6:00 tonight!

We are going to hang out here today, and leave for home in the morning. More later!
