Correct Charlie. Herb Jr just confirmed for me. He noted his dad ran 3 different color schemes don this A990 car, with this being the first.

Looking at the picture in your initial post, is there any way to use "technology" to determine what the lettering said that was sanded off on the door?
When lettering was hand done, may times the lettering paint etched into the base paint and left a scar that was permanent. Just a thought.
Also, the image of the lettering suggests a "pattern" that may help identify the way the word was presented.
OK...It's cold in Detroit and I've been watching too many CSI shows.

A close up of the very specific pin striping found on the C Pillar, above the door & decklid.

Some additional engine bay shots were requested. Here they are. There is a full image of the engine bay on page 1.

I've chased the history of that car as well Jerry, just to rule it out. Thanks for the post. That's an image of that car I haven't seen before.

For the record, this car is confirmed as destroyed.

Re: Help find the history of this 64 Savoy Lightweight

Just a tiny bit of info here. The person who owned it furthest back in my research noted he bought the car from an individual who lived off of Strawberry Rd, Pasadena, TX around 1986/87.

He also stated he found the car in the Houston area Auto Trader. I know most of us threw those things out, but if anyone has any old Auto Traders from around that time I would be interested in hearing from you.

Giving the car search thread a bump. Still looking for any and all information on this car.

After it was purchased off of Strawberry Rd in Pasadena it went next to Magnolia. The gentleman in Magnolia bought it out of the local auto trader. I would imagine if anyone has a stack of the old auto traders from the Houston area circa 1986-1989 it would be in there.
