Charlie is fighting a up hill battle. Could be down as much as 70 hp and with a very bad car aero wise as Larry found it the body has issues. Ford will not step up and do a 2016 car which is what needs to be done even if they had someone to do it! They spent their wad on LeMans!

Stupid NHRA, I know the top 12 qualify initially, but they "throw out" early runs?

The qualifying format they have now was new news in 2008. I still don`t like it.

Possible bad news Charlie was charged with an oildown on his last qualifier.

Are you sure, they were cleaning up in the other lane.

Left Lane: Charlie Westcott Jr. Runs 6.818/202.58, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.853/203.34, Was #15
Right Lane: Curt Steinbach Runs 6.762/204.94, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.212/188.86, Was #17

Westcott Jr. improves on his run from earlier today...Steinbach launched hard and keep it hooked up and made his quickest pass of the weekend to move up to the number four spot. Curt Steinbach's incremental times: 60ft-1.019 sec., 330ft-2.840, 660ft-4.354/162.51 mph, 1,000ft-5.661. Charlie Westcott Jr. was charged with an oildown, #1 for the season. That will cost 5. I was only posting what was reported Jerry

Where did you see the Mustang was bad aero wise? Larry got a different front end approved, and it was the best out there.

Areo just doesn't mean a new front end! It's all about aero balance. Low drag with the down force you need to keep the car hooked. Who stated it was the best car out there? Unless you ran all three in tha same wind tunnel on the same day no one can say one is better than the other.

I thought they would look better without the huge hood scoops, guess not in my opinion....yuck

As far as throwing out the non qualified ET's, I guess I never saw slower times in the "good session", although I don't really watch it that closely

After its all said and done ,the 77 would have kept him in the number 16 spot anyway...but, I am not a fan of the 12 format either...maybe when there was 30 to 40 cars trying for a spot I get it..... but now
