I think this got approved because of the d-dart, but I could be wrong

D-Darts had factory modified (intake openings bored out to accept Holley) standard 273 intakes. AND adapter plates.

I have found the early 64-66 blocks are better, i have a 65 block in my car, with some fill, all good so far, and i am just using the hooker headers for now, until i have Performance Welding build me a set someday.

The D-Dart intake manifold, P/N 2536771, is identical to the 318 marine engine intake.
It's a single plane cast iron intake with an adapter for the Holley carburetor.

hi, just curious, I seen marine intake for 318, casting number is2846707. the carb flange is angled quite a bit from level, thanks

The ones I've seen had angled spacers under carb, dad had two 400s with them. First boat had a ford 351 engine, angled spacer under carb.

771 is also listed as 66 California.

The LD4B Edelbrock intake was approved as a replacement for the 273 due to the fact it was available with a Chrysler part number. The same rationale used on the 440 Chrysler 6-Pack engine with the Edelbrock intake. The 6-Pack intake was available in both aluminum and cast iron.

Looks like it would flow better than that boat anchor.
