Looking on DRC, it seems as though too many eliminators were attempted at the Dutch.

Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, 4 index classes, Factory Stock, Top Stock, Jr. Stock, Super 64, Hemi Shootout, motorcycles, Stk, SS, SG, SC, Comp,TD, TS.

Just seems like a lot of classes to get organized and through.
It is nice to have all that opportunity for folks, but that just seems like a lot.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. There were actually five index classes if you include Pro Dial. The Super 64 was the Super/Pro/Sportsman/Bike classes, they ran off until there were 4 left, and ran off like a King of the Hill.

I ran the Pro-Dial. I'd never do it again though. It made a long day longer waiting to run.

The Dutch Classic is not what it was originally intended for.
I counted 13 classes. Really?
It use to be about Stock And Super Stock racing and performance
Haven’t finished class in 3 years I believe. This SUCKS.
Now it’s a bracket race. What afing shame.
I had a 10,00 index guy bitching about 1 time run and the $50 dollar entry fee
EXSCUE Me StUPiD!!! I paid $170 +$50 for crew.
What A Joke. The Dutch Tragic. This race is officially a bracket rac

Well said flyin' Hawaiian, there are way too many classes and never enough time to get them all done. I can go to combo races for $100 and run for the same amount to win - $2000, and these races include all kinds of bracket cars, too. For this reason I have not been there since 2008, but who cares, the track gets their $$.

Very well said James. As a hardcore fan, I have been increasingly disappointed with what the Dutch has become. There is never enough time to finish class, which is one of the main reasons that I go to the Dutch every year. I will be there in 2019; but, if it is the same as this year, I won't be there in 2020.

I agree with you James. To many categories even if you had perfect weather. When I lived near Budds Creek I went EVERY year to Maple Grove several different times. I used to love going there. Does this have to do with the Baders buying the track ? Or is it just the current crop of owners and people running it scraping for every dollar they can get ?

The index classes have been run at the Dutch for the last 3 years, so I don't think the Baders' involvement has anything to do with it. Plus, the Baders know how to promote and run a Sportsman event; case in point, they sell out their Divisional event every year. At any other Divisional event, there is hardly anyone in the stands.

James is correct and it's been like that for several years. It's a shame because it was once a great event.

Once they started running the Index classes a few years ago; it opened the door for all of the bracket classes that they ran this year. The Dutch certainly isn't what it used to be, and I'm afraid it never will be again.

I think a "Top Priority" should be to Finish Class Run-Offs First.
But you have to have the racers say something about it.

Factory Stock only had 3 cars.
Jr. Stock had 2 cars.
Comp Elim. had 6 cars.
So i don't think by having FS & Jr. Stk is a big deal.

But having Super 64, Bikes & Other stuff, i think they can do without it.
The Final in Stock was 6:30pm, where if they didn't have certain categories
they could've been done a lot earlier.

Of course by having weep issues on Saturday doesn't help either.
Don't know how long the down time was though.
