Re: Anyone live from the Texas Motorplex Double?
You can see “improper/loose” ballast all the time, particularly on cars that depend on precise balance to manage the conditions. At least that’s how I read the rulebook. Believe D4 may have been sending a message to all racers.

I don’t know what to tell you Ed,...racing can be dangerous....I transport my race fuel in a metal drum,....but what about the fuel in my fuel cell ? What about the fuel in my generator ? What about the fuel in my pit bike ?....

Re: Anyone live from the Texas Motorplex Double?
Another racer bounced at ZMAX for loose ballast (no need to mention name) so guess everybody who sometimes throws in a bag of tools or lead shot bag to make sure you make weight are forewarned....NHRA is looking!

Re: Anyone live from the Texas Motorplex Double?
A while back, they came through the lanes and said nothing lose in the driver compartment including tire gauges, screw drivers, nothing. It was sort of amusing as there were rows of the stuff stacked on the side of the staging lanes until everyone made their runs and were able to come back and retrieve things. I guess I can see the point, flying screw drivers in the event of a crash does seem somewhat disconcerting.
