Not sure where this round able for Chrysler is going. But they used Dana 60's in some production cars.

Well, I stand corrected.

Billy, many years ago I parted out one of these cars for the engine. I didn't want to let the shell go with the Spicer rear in it but a hard hit on the rt. rear had tweaked the caliper and rotor and I figured the axle tube was wonky. In retrospect, I should have pulled the rear end. :(

That is silly. A ‘57 Pontiac is a bolt-in deal. Only driveshaft shorter, with larger U-joint on the back. Not faster, just less breakage. I ran a ‘56 Chevy 9 passenger wagon in MP, before ever running Stock. The Olds rears needed some work. They came with coil springs in the back.
When I made the wagon a Jr Stocker, I ran the Pontiac rear, not one Tech guy ever noticed. When I went to the sedan the next year, I kept the Chevy rear end. Not nearly as nervous if a Tech guy looked under it. Pontiac rear could be no faster, just more heavier, and less starting line breakage. They looked much alike from the back, Pontiac was a little larger. For a whole season, nobody noticed.

You guys got me thinking.....

I have a state of the art Chevy Drop Out Center Section with maybe a 5.38 gear

Henry's Axles, MOPAR spline with heat treated Stahl-Moroso side gears,
Steel carrier bearing cap, alternate Posi Plate stack and the back of the housing has a tension bolt to pre-load the cap.

State of the art in 1965...

Are aftermarket 12 Chevy diffs legal in stock and super stock?
The 68/69 Cutlass and 442 built in Canada had a 12 Chevy diff.
