So many comments to make, but I'll restrain myself to one. Desperately hoping this is isn't a replay of when Harley Davidson bought its way into the NHRA.

Has anybody even tried the Turbo 180 mail truck transmission?

I guess this means the cobrajets can run a turbo 200, right?

Or did Toyota buy GM while nobody was looking? I really doubt that this so called "Production" Toyota car is available at the Toyota dealership with a GM Turbo 400 transmission connecting the engine to the , I assume, Toyota rear axle assembly.

just throw the rule books away to let some BS combo compete, this is why people are leaving stock for bracket racing etc,

This car has a VIN.

Interesting car. Little bit shorter wheelbase at 97.2", but not much rear overhang. Probably be listed in the guide at 3,250 lbs shipping weight and maybe rated at 350 hp which would make it a natural "C" car for stock.

Just my guesses.

LOL Just answer whatever question you like.
If you don't want to, just add your own question.

So... when do '69 Camaros get rollers and a 9"...?
Asking for a friend...

Re: Coming Soon.....

It's possible NHRA is just soliciting participation from the largest auto manufacturer in the world (by a large margin) in order to gain sponsorship and participation. And while I understand the 'purist' view point having a Toyota stocker is more reasonable than having a "Camry" bodied funny car or stamping TOYOTA on a Hemi (or Camry in NASCAR). Toyota's leadership was smart enough to recognize that EV's aren't the perfect solution other manufacturers seemed to buy into so I'd say let them play on our playground and see how it unfolds.

Give the friends name.
I do not want rollers, or a 9".
It is more showroom available and has a true VIN than a CobraJet, COPO, or a DragPak. I think most of the aforementioned owners will be truly butt hurt over the possibility of not having the big...er...quickest car at the track. Add in the possibility it is truly a street driven, showroom available car.
