Boudreau won the race even in this situation based on the better reaction time! He got there first.

One of them was going to get tore down anyway.

DeFrank was only behind by .002 at the 1000ft. he was catching him and every mark and was going to get around boudeau if he stayed in it.

Agree Defrank would have won if he wouldnt have lifted! My only point is (IF) they agreed to race to the 1000 Boudreau won the race

Well, it is official--5 cars were pitched--Holzman AA/SA, Nicholson A/SA, Pierce, Bishop B/S, Boudreau.

The final sheet still is not out. I am going to figure out who we have in the morning.

More later. It is dinner time. Larry is supposed to cook cabbage and kelbasa, but I think he just wooshed out on me. So I guess it is leftovers.

Chad Holzman wasn't tossed so he must have won. Looks like the runnerup got tossed.

Good job guys!!

Ed sorry to correct you but SS/BM was won by Caro in the Stratus it was SS/BS. And if you worked on your car as much as you type crap about Lloyds SS/JA car you might have a chance to get within a car length or so of him. I know this is at least the 4th post about that car where you have trashed him or his car. At least I can say that he runs it BALLS out and dont give a crap about the 1.15 rule. If he did he would have lifted on the first pass.

Jim Boudreau is all about class. He was .002 to the good at the 1000' mark and at that point the contest was very much up in the air. Jim DeFrank dumped and Jim took the win. THEN after the race Jim Boudreau ran the numbers on his time slip and determined that DeFrank would have won the race. NEXT Jim Boudreau took the class trophy over to Jim DeFrank's pit and gave him the trophy - saying that it looked like Jim DeFrank would have been the clear winner. The Boudreau and DeFrank camps have a great deal of respect for each other. I hope this balances Jim Boudreau's Karma account. Not that he needs it.

Herb jr I know I don't need to, but I will defend Mr. Wright. He explained to you before in a post that he was just having fun no disrespect in anyway. Ed talks about that car all the time. He says it's the standard in JA. Maybe not anymore since he got beat. He has nothing but respect for the guy. Ed is like me everything on his car isn't the best money can buy. He runs pretty damn well with what he has. I enjoy hanging out with him at the races. He isn't the bad guy you think he is. Sorry Ed I had to. Hope to see you down the road.

How do you take a trophy to give to someone else when the trophy is not in your possession? I never got mine until after the teardown. Has something changed? lol

Re: Live from Indy!!! US Nationals

T. Bishop got a very raw deal. Was told to pull a piston, was very hard to do in that car. Never got the pan off the car but was able to move it to the side so it could be removed. All of the specs checked out fine and the piston and rod were on the conservative side, everything in spec, but he was still tossed because the techs could not read the whole part number on the top of the piston.

Here's a man whos been running at Indy for over 40 years. Has one of the best and honest engine builders in the country, Bub Whitaker, and they throw him out for this. BS. Bub was hot.

The D/SA Camaro class winner next to Tim was also suppose to pull a piston but somehow they got a pass not to do it because the engine crain was not up to snuff for the job. I thought that when NHRA told you what they want, you are to do it.........case closed.

I'm still shaking my head about this tear down session.

the AHFS cannot and will not ever work because we can manipulate the numbers (like jimx2 did)... maybe nhra should toss them both of them under a "conduct not in the best interest of racing statute"... ???

anyway normal indy drama... maybe even better than usual !!!

jack...

gotta head back to indy now looks like roy dean is now in (#131) and running tommorow morning...
and congrats to roy on his U/SA class win, first since 1988 (in same ol wagon !)

Do they normally do teardown at Indy the day after Class? Does that mean I have time to take out my 975hp 565 motor, that I just ran past Armstrong's Corvette (by 3 tenths and 10mph) and then pull my car into my trailer and switch back to my underpowered 427 and pass tech hopefully with flying colors:) Hopefully I won't forget to uninstall my nitrous kit also:)

The announcer on the audiocast said it best, "I like seeing this car leave with the front wheels up not the rear". Sorry for the troubles, enjoy and have a safe trip home.

To the laughing Mr. Parsons. Good point. I didn't recieve my trophy until after tear down either. Jim Boudreau went to the DeFrank pit and told them he was going to give them the trophy. Is that better? Check with the DeFrank folks and you'll find this to be true.

Dude, I don't know what your problem is, but why (instead of running your mouth, or keyboard) don't you just go ask Lloyd, Sonny and James about me? I kid them a lot, I consider them friends and think they are a class act. They know that. I have never trashed them or that car. There is a reason it's that fast, talent and hard work. And, Lloyd drives it very well. No hard feelings on my part about how fast that car is, and they all know it. Mine is a low budget attempt to have some fun, not a serious effort. They also know that. I didn't think anybody would ever outrun that car, I was listening on the computer when they ran, and was shocked when they lost. Lloyd even left on him. 10.01 @ 131 in that air is awesome.

Sorry about calling Byron's class wrong, the hood scoop classes came along while I was away (not prison, just not racing) so I still get them mixed up.

Your father was always one of my heroes, don't know what happened to you.

Re: Live from Indy!!! US Nationals

Well, we broke the transmission. It broke back in the pits as he was leaving to go up to run. He got up there in 2nd gear and got staged against the 2 step. He was hoping Les Norton would red-light and then he could change trans before the next round. Well Norton didn't red-light, so so much for that plan. Anyway he didn't want to risk tearing it up further. It wouldn't go in any gear, so he got pulled back to the trailer. We hope to be at Earlville next week, so he will get it changed this week.

I will post more later. I have some pics from teardown, but I will do all that as we start home.

Don't mind any of my comments on this site. It's pretty miserable for me having my car 800 miles away from me all of the time and having a busy work/life schedule. Brian, where do I sign up for the every other month work schedule and do you have any extra space for my car in your trailer:)

Maybe next time I'll buy a house with a garage. STUPID MOVE!!!

Anybody in Mass have a free/cheap garage to keep my SS'er in?:)
