Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners
Yep, I use a computer pretty much for everything, the cool part is I can link my datalogs to the run info and run reports on it :) Im gonna call em TPS reports, like in "Office Space"
Damm it feels good to be a Ganster...... I cant promise much of a show, other than us just showing up by the skin of our teeth and our car being actually wrapped in the pits, one of our sponsors is a wrap company and well......the only chance they will have is in the pits....should be interesting to see. BUT I dont have my Golf Cart, and I didnt get a chance to run over to PA to pick up my NEW Vintage bike.....(well 100 and something original miles not bad for a 72) And no grill, and no soda fountain......Im bummed about that, but I may wallpaper my trailler in the pits if I can get my hands on enough vintage HotRod and CarCraft mags to cut up. Also may lay tile in it while Im out there.......thats after I rebuild our generator....ive got all the parts in the Pacifica, but wont have time to do it till were trackside. I do have our shirts being delivered out there, and I got my new timing chain in so, I may do that trackside, but Ive got to pull the motor to do it...yes really on these motors with the oil pump and pickup the way it is....(and secret squirrel patches) Im saving the cars original namesake I had picked and the appropriate logo for the 8's ....... Dead Mans Hand (or Aces and Eights) for a name, my favorite poker hand, but if I rename the car then I need to get a custom gold pinkie ring made with the Ace and 8 on it.....I aleady had it speced at a Jewler so.....the A8 Patch will be my reward :) (Im only half serious its up to you to figure out what part Im serious about and what part Im joking about, the pinkie ring...thats serious) This is of course all dependent on me not turning the whole engine to a pile of aluminum and iron shavings that I can then give to my kids to grind up and make thermite with...... Well be the ones with the 180k mile rusty Dodge truck and dull trailer Ive had for 2 or 3 years and never finished taking the sticker off of, it still reads "Scotty Racing Team OvertheRoad Trucking" But since I pulled some of the letters off now it reads "Sco Rac Ove ucking" Who knows what the hell they think that means in California land, if I get winks from large Hairy guys and smootches Ill have an idea why........ Kinda like the last roadtrip we took in 2 vans, I put a sign on my buddys van that said "Ohio Gay and Lesbian Youth Evangalists" he got a strange combination of Angry drivers , but an overwhelming and frigthening majority of winks and kisses from very large scarry truck drivers. He wasnt real happy when he saw what I had printed up and stuck to his van........(but still has it hanging in his garage) Anyone know where I can get a stuffed, remote controlled weasel in short notice ? Cheers Chris Quote:

What do you think? |
Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners
Not too bad.
Today (around 1) We leave for Atlanta, roll in around midnight, there tommorow am for the High Speed dyno pulls, were having a "guest" vereran racer from the area I am looking very forward to meeting. Leave Frid night or Sat AM 12 hrs to Tx......Test Sunday Leave Sunday put about 6-8 hrs under of the 24 hrs I need to get to Pomona, Monday another 12-15, and Tue the balance, roll in on Wed Am or Tue late depending. Its not like Im driving to Asia via the Bearing Strait..... Its not bad to drive when you have good company to ride with I guess. It is what it is.....there is no option so why worry or complain for me ? It just got to be done.....simple. 7 days is a week.....there are 168 hours in that or 10080 minutes....Seems like more than enough time to me Quote:

Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners
Shhhhhhhh........its secret.....all will be revealed at Pomona :)
The ECU and Datalogging is all handled by the ECU....and they are our main sponsor, and well the car isnt in their wrap yet. Pomona will be the debut for it.... Slick (and NHRA Legal and APPROVED) are the word of the system though "Trick stuff" There MAY be 1 or 2 others running it out there.....but theyre not talking, SOMEONE got the system approved in Oct of last year, but not the manufacturer....so were even clueless as to who it is....and it may not be at a National level even so.... "Positive thinking"people.....hahaha...............You could substitute some other terms right there I think....... Atlanta to LA area is about 2200 miles according to this here puter. There appears to be no time for testing in Texas but maybe the days get longer as you drive west..... Confuscius say Haste makes waste |

Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners
You can drive from NJ to CA in 3 days, done it with big Plymouth on the back of my C-30 flatbed, 2 people alternating driving with 1 hotel stop in the middle. We all know the problems that can plague a new car, give the guy a break. Give him some credit for what he has done so far, yea he likes to talk but he admits when he is wrong so he is not just some stroke. Time will tell and we will see how many gremlins turn up but I dont think he will have many.

You do gain 3 hours going out there!!!

Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners
If drooze is willing to put in 14-20 hour days to get it completed and running, getting it to Pomona in 3 days time shouldn't be a problem. He could even swing by Music City Raceway for some testing on Feb. 6 and 7. I think he already has a few runs on it.

Hi Jack..........I agree.....I will be looking forward to reading your reports and seeing pictures. I know everyone else will be as well. Good luck and I'm jealous.......Hopefully the sun will shine and it will be warm..... It's all just in fun.....If this guy Drooze makes it apparently his efforts will have been worth it. Talking about every detail is the issue some of us have.....Like arnold says.....JUST DO IT........ If your going to post endlessly on a website I'm thinking your totally open to comments from the peanut gallery..........and your looking for feedback otherwise you wouldn't be posting in the first place...... |

Yes it was with a delay box and on a .400 tree. He asked what was a good RT on a .400 tree..... There are lots of very good drivers these days in Stock and RT's are usually well under .050's. Buttons, blinders and or just naturally good foot brakers. For Example.........Take a look at Michael Beard's RT's form this past weekends IHRA race in Florida. He won Stock........ The last race I ran before I sold my EFI LT-1 Firebeird I lost with a .010 RT to a .02x.on a dbl breakout...... I saw far better RT's in the opposite lane than years past during my short stint with that car.......Especially the younger drivers.... |

[QUOTE=W J;167088]While you're at it, how about giving the "positive thinking" people here your reason (s) just WHY drooze and his team won't make it to Cali? I'm saying, and hoping he will be there.... WJ[/QUOTE Ok, I will think positive and hope Drooze makes it to Pomona,CA.All I am saying is if he had a more positive plan with a new car he could be at the stripe at las vegas motor speedway doing testing this weekend on his way to Pomona.I was there last weekend for the PSCA DRAG RACE and the weather (60-70 degrees) and track was perfect. We shall see!

Just watched the live link from vegas. Jeggie's Challenger struggled to do a burn out on maiden pass and was backed off track.

We (and this is a TEAM effort , me and my Dad, I just do the talking for both of us :D WE are the FIRST car since last year , OTHER Than Couglin to be track ready and he got his car a month or so before us ? And has everyone else doing his work...... So I dono, I like our plan it worked well SO Far. I had 14 months to formulate it. (Zeee plan, zat had to beeee in place before zeee germans get here :) But seriously.....I like our plan....Ive had to adjust it for my son and fathers hospital detour, but that was what was important, not the car at that point. (Even though my dad tried to get me to leave the hospital and go work at the shop) Were still gonna be lucky to make Pomona running right, look at Coughlin ?!? Not like he hasnt had the best and brightest working on it......and well shtufz happens, like bob said there be gremlins to be found. Ive got a wicked hammer to correct them but.....well see....ANYTHING is possible between Atlanta, Texas and Pomona I am very well aware of that. Im pretty damm good at logistics.... On the Road to Atlanta now.......Be there tommorow..... More dyno and ready out to Texas..... Cheers (In response to someone elses post I DO expect all the response and it DOES help immensly, it helps my thought process and has on a technical side led me to the "right" solution on many things, any (and there really are very few) personal attacks or negative energy directed at me, is food for thought then motivation. BUT 90% of all of the responses and viewpoints expressed I give serious consideration to even if I dont agree or follow. This site has been a BOON in terms of Contacts and Resources like none other that I have come across...... It and the majority of the people who post are a credit to the sport and the info here a gold mine. Cheers all time to grab some food..... (Oh and whoever said 16-20 hrs a day , I appreciate it, but 16 hrs I do....20 I cant ,gotta sleep and eat.....and post to class racer..:) I REALLY Hope Couglin gets the gremlins squashed.... He amazes me in the ability. To focus on 2 seperate projects and cars at the same time at the level he does.....The DP Would seem to me to be a distraction, guess thats why they call em PROS.... |

Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners
rofl....good to hear from you..., so no water after midnight ? lol.
Youre gonna be there right ? Pomona ..... Someone is buying someone dinner there...lol....still donno who....but well....Im always hungry and its the only time Im not talking anyhow (when my mouth is full of food) We call em otters at the shop.......thats why we have a stuffed Garage otter, to scare off the other otters....or my son when he finds him relocated behind a different box, or I growl and yell from under the car and make it look like its coming at him.... fun for the whole family. I loaded up my LT-1 Firebird and drove 175 miles to Lebanon Valley for the Lucas race in 2006 I think it was. Had no tune-up other than getting it started at home and annoying the hell out of my neighbors. Never made a lap before that event. Was even unaware I had a reverse pattern valve body trans. untill I rode around the pits a few times. Man first feels lazy.....Oh, thats 3rd dummy!!! Tried tuning it some at the track.......Car went down the track to a blistering 11.66...........I tried some things and was annoying those around me in the pits.....Had an old buddy tell me I shouldn't be whipping out my laptop every 5 minutes and messing with the EFI......Made another run....It was slower. Fuel failed and it was fresh!...Bought new fuel and a new jug.....drained the gas out of the car. Came close to starting a nasty fire in my haste. My good friend Tom Goldman told me a couple things and they were proved true on the first 2 runs.....Live and learn.....Well I was on the sheet and decided to just try to have fun. Pulled into the lanes for rd 1.....fuel pump fuse blows as I am rolling up to find my competition......Try more fuses.....they all blow......Tell the folks in charge I am toast and manage to get back to my trailer.....Remove pump for inspection......junk. Load up and find some cold beer............Learned shortly after that event I had the injector firing order set wrong in my Accel Gen VII unit. I knew it sounded like a boat!!! I was able to tip someone else off about this mistake some time later.....I recognized the sound when he made a run. So I know all about stuff like this and I have lots more stories going back 40+ years. Some are funny, some are not.....All of them are due to a somewhat insane desire to do well at drag racing. Most of us have this disease. Some worse than others. I call it "race fever". There is no cure.... I was a lot more ambitous when I was younger but never in a position to plan or attempt anything like Mr Drooze...... The time for posting and Twittering is about done...... Good Luck Mr Drooze.... |
Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners
Jegs car would not go into high gear.
|
Re: Challenger Drag Pak Owners
Jeggis's challenger made 2 more runs. A 10.58 @127 & a 10.40 @128.80 with a 1.40 60' 6.58 @102 1/8 mile.
Announcer said Jeff Taylor was driving at least on the 10.58 pass. Irvin Johns car is looking more impressive. |

Hes not running at current right ? Just checking.......... Irv has a very very fast car......I wonder if I really know how fast...I have a guess....but thats based on things I "Think" I know about his combo, some of which could be innacurate. Im dissapointed in Jegs runs......not dissapointed for him, but rather for us......or what our first runs will look like... Sunday will tell..... Jeff, were you serious about the car numbers rolling out ?!?! Im shocked they rolled so high so fast, last I talked to the "Mopar" guys like Rich, he said they were looking at April - May for the first run to be over, but at this rate.....WOW.....any word on owners for (zeee list) if you were serious....cant tell with you next youll tell me ones got the 413 cross ram "option" :D Have your son gimme a call , I cant find his number, the other car is "available" I guess and I was wrong on the price , I think..... |

Alright I can be a bit dim sometimes....Ill bite what gives with the Popcorn ?
The datalogging flashes to a SD card if I want it to....I can run up to 16gigs of logs :) And I can do anything I want (Thats legal of course) But its a killer system, out implementation is all custom, but its cool...."trick" as it were....very "trick" Quote:

How many cars did they make in 2009? Did the 2010 cars start with 2010001 or did they continue with the serial numbers of the 09s?
