John originally bought the car in pieces in P.E.I and turned it into a SS/DA car then Greg bought it, then John bought it back oh, about 15 years later .

is that a 4in cowl hood on Adam's car? I know the cowl hood on a 68 Camaro is a touchy subject around there but I seen 2 302 Z28 cars come through Barret-Jackson with a factory cowl so we know they do exist.

In reference to Mike Adams & my cowl hoods in the picture. Camaro Top Stocker's were permitted to use a fiberglass cowl hood. Mike's was a 4", and was only used for this race. At Rockingham in 2001, (the next Top Stock event) Mike was running the more commonly used cowl hood.

Lots of stuff comes through Barrett-Jackson that was never OEM. They are in the business of making money off people's fantasies, not historical correctness. I have a copy of a document from GM that shows the first order for cowl induction hood stampings was issued 8/12/68, almost a month and a half after the end of the 1968 production year. Yeah, they exist, but they didn't come off the assembly line that way.

Theses pictures are awesome, I love Camaros. My dad has had the same Camaro now for 30+ years, heck I even come home for the hospital in it 31 years ago. His car was originally bought as a race car, and he race it and drove it on the street and then it became a street/strip car and now it is almost back to a full blow race car, it is a 67 SS/RS with a 406 in it right now, it has run a best of 10.81@121mph through the mufflers on Mickey Thompson drag radials.

They did NOT come out of the factory with cowl induction z/28 hoods until '69 (67 and 68 had a flat hood or ss hood). I don't even believe they made ss/rs or rs/z28 cars either and I've seen those too. Did you see the build sheets? I think they can reproduce those too. Just sayin... I was born in 58 and have owned a 67rs, 68, and 69 Camaro.
