Actually, it was a 10.207 on an 11.25 sea level index, that's 1.043 under. Racers that run the Boise race say the indexes are over adjusted, the track is about 0.22-0.25 slow, and they added 0.37 to the index. In any event, you have to run 1.25 under the sea level index. If they aren't correcting the local weather to a sea level standard, then it's a good rule, too. |

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well we are stacked. If anybody is like us and haven't been here before, go past Gate 1 all the way down to Gate 7. Then you climb the hill to a fabulous view at the top. It looks like Mike and Paula are "King and Queen of the Hill". It looked like their rig parked on top. Hey,Mike and Paula, if you are here in stacking come on down. We just got a bite of supper and are going out for a walk and see if we can find anybody we know.
It is really cool and windy. |

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well the rig we saw was not the Cotten's. They are still here 1st in line. We walked up there and Macy let us know she was there.
They did not give us a number when we came in, but there appear to be 30-40 rigs in line. Well it is dark now, so off to bed for us. More tomorrow. Patsy |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing

Exactly my point Tony. |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
We have had a wonderful time today seeing the countryside with Mike and Paula. We took a great tour of the winery, then tonight went to downtown Sonoma where they were having a farmers market on the town square. We ate a great Mexican restaurant called Maya on the corner of the square. Here are some pics:

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well they are supposed to start parking us about noon tomorrow, so I will try to get pix of cars after everyone unloads.
This is a great vacation!!! |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Sure looks like it !
To bad you cann't take more time between races, after you get home you'll say " Why didn't we take our time". But what a trip ! Good luck .......... Please say "Hello" to Mike from me. |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Well we are in and parked. They actually started parking around 11. We have a decent spot across from Mike and Paula. We are on the right side of the track on past the scoreboards. So come on down to see us. Looks like most of the sportsmen are being parked up on the hill on the left side of the track. We haven't unloaded the golf cart yet. After we do, I will go scouting.

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Larry and Patsy you guys are in a beautiful part of the country. Alice and I spent two nights of our honeymoon at the Sonoma Mission Inn In Sonoma. We toured wineries and ate great food while we were there. You probably won't have a chance to go up the Napa Valley but it's also beautiful. I wish you had more time to spend because San Francisco is a wonderful city and The Monterey peninsula and Carmel are really nice too. To say nothing for the Big Sur area which is amazing. You would almost be better off staying out there and forgetting about Denver.
Don't come home it's hot and humid. |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
What a great thread, and as usual from the Hill's, lots of great pictures.
Almost lets us feel as though we were out there too. Maybe we will get to see you at Mile High, if we get there..... Anyway, thanks again for all of the great info and pcis. You guys are great. So be safe, have fun and just keep winning! David The New Hemi Guy |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
We have been gone this evening to visit some friends who live in Oakland. We ate a great place called Townhouse in Berkley. Just got back to the track where it is very cool and windy. We will go out and see everything tomorrow and let you know who's here. I see Toby is posting from here, too, so I'm sure he will have lots of pics, too.

Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Larry, bringing by a couple of Susuin Valley wines for you folks and to say hello.
Barry |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
Barry, we are looking forward to meeting you. We are on the right side of the track past comp and top sportsman.
Greg, You can keep that weather back home, although it seems like we have taken hot weather with us. I think it is supposed to be pretty warm today. Right now it is a beautiful blue sky with a breeze. Larry has gone done to tech in now. We will try to get out and get some pics soon. |
Re: "Live" from the Western Swing
I can't remember if I told ya'll this while we were in Seattle, but when we left home, we forgot our California Car Duster. So we had to buy a new one on our way. This time we bought a purple one. It doesn't clash with the pink car the way the red one did. Anyway, we were telling Mr. Defrank that we had bought a new one, and he gave Larry one of their new products to try. It is called Quick Shine and it works really well. You spray it on (or on a microfiber towel) and wipe it off and your car is nice and shiny again. "Try it, you'll like it."
