The only pictures I have (from the Peterson archives) are B+W. I didn't ask if anyone remembers what color
they were because, well, you know......

IF they were Accel spark plug wires, they were definitely yellow.

One of my all-time favorite paint schemes and race cars. De-stroked 340 Mopar small-block.

I would agree. The Accel decal at the bottom of the front fender is their bright yellow and the wires in the black& white picture are of a lighter color.
Is there anything in the display case in the cover photo that would indicate what color wires are on it? My old eyes cant tell by looking at my computer screen.

New front fenders for the Leal B/MP Hemi Duster sectioned and tacked for additional
clearance in the front just like the originals.

The poster of this Pintrest picture stated it was a 1977 Landy Pro Stock. I noted it has an Accel sticker on the side and yellow wires showing.

May not help but....

I would never think it would be this difficult to find a picture of anything Butch Leal!

Latest pre-paint pictures showing new 4500 carbs and linkage (shown on dummy motor) . Now working
on hood and scoop. Went over to Moser axle in Portland, IN Wednesday and dropped off the Dana for
some maintenance and new axles. Last photo: With the pavement done the new shop is getting there.
The electrician is running all of the conduit and installing new LED lights throughout. O.H. doors are 12x9.

Fitting of the final primered body panels in preparation for cutting the hole for the hood scoop.
Per the 1975 NHRA rulebook, all panels except for the scoop itself must be factory sheet metal.

Thanks. That picture I did have.

The hood scoop, which must go on the stock steel hood per 1975 NHRA B/MP rules, has been
cut for angle, height and snorkel length. Original picture for comparison.

The seats are just sitting in there. We have new tracks and the correct upholstery and door panels
from Legendary Upholstery.

Re: Modified Eliminator Wars in the 70's

Went over to Moser Engineering in Indiana yesterday and picked up a couple of rear ends
including the original Flash differential which we had fitted with new ends, axles, gears and
carrier. Powder coated satin black.

Mike at Moser was even good enough to duplicate the original welds on the ends as verified
by Gary Hansen from Ron Butler's.

One variation from original was to have the axles drilled for 4.5, 4.75 & 5.0 inch bolt circles
as wheels that we have been able to find from that era can be far and few between.

Re: Modified Eliminator Wars in the 70's

A couple of things I would like to do to the Leal Duster but I can't:

1. Section that big goofy front bumper. On our street versions we always
take about three inches out of them and pull them in tighter to the body.
(see pic of the innocent looking green '73 with the 472 Barton Hemi).

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y93...ps65nnaqgx.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y93...ster/472-4.jpg

2. Paint the engine compartment white (like a Sox & Martin car). Chrysler's
(Mr. Hoover's?) edict was to paint it black - maybe to hide changes?

For whatever reason we will not deviate from the original specification.
