Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
Thanks for the info Denny. Hey, I like the shot of Mt. Rainier in the background,, you can see the "elks head" glacier from your location,,, possibly between Enumclaw and Buckley? By the way,, very nice "Cuda with a lot of history. Take care.

Same car as previously mentioned (Slippery Fish) or did they have another? Part of Liteweight's report from the 2014 Hemi Reunion: The car count was really lite. There were only 2 original LO cars. Dan Morgan had his there along with mine. Rob Hall brought his Banning & Slaughter BO, & Kramer brought the original Faubel 65 AFX car. There were only a couple A990 cars in attendance, one being the Steve Bagwell car. |

Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
Banning and Slaughter....
Didn't S.E. Buchanan drive this one for a bit? I also remember Steve (Steve's Speed Shop, Little Rock Ar} may have driven it as well. Still thinking it was a real one. Maybe they had two??????? Dwight? Rob? chime in maybe. |

Is $2,000 reasonable? I would hate to have to ship them.
|
Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
I don't believe the Banning & Slaughter car was a real car. Seems that I remember talking to S.E. during the time they were building the car and the car was a street car. Steve would be a good person to ask. Verne Buchanan, S.E.'s brother, or Jim Kuntz would probably know a lot about the build of that car too. I can also contact Tommy Slaughter or Jim Hale if it is necessary.

Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
Unless there were 2 cars, there is a real one in existance today

Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
Daryl,
Your recent mention of this car at the Hemi show is kind of what triggered the idea of two cars. This one and the "Slippery Fish". Unless..........they are one in the same. Isn't this fun ???????? |
Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
The Banning and Slaughter car pictured is an original car ,there was a twin built that was a non factory car , now painted red and yellow sponsored by napa auto parts , and last I heard was owned and raced by Jim Hale ,possibly with a GT combo .

Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
Hey guys.gonna need some help in the next few months we bought a bo29 car and we are trying to get it restored for next summer possibly carlyle. The car we bought is the only 4 speed sold new in canada lt ls no 73 on the original owners list.Just pulled out of the garage after a 32 year rest.First question is does any one sell the motor mounts that are welded to the k member as they were cut off in favour of ears.I know kramer sells a complete k member.Next there doesnt seem to be a normal a body bulkhead connector on the fire wall the wires just go through the sqaure hole in the fire wall is this normal. Not sure if this is true but as far as i know all 67 to 69 barracudas have a chrome strip on the tops of the doors and they have holes for the clips our car has no holes .So i assume true bo29 cars have no moulding on top of the doors.A good way to identify real cars in the old photos. Thanks Dan ps more questions to come.

Dan First off, congrats on your purchase. I've heard of that car, but never saw it, or pix of it. Think you could post a few here? I have a good friend in Wisconsin that can probably help you out with mounts, as I gave him an uncut original A Body Hemi K Member to take measurements from for reproductions of the complete K member or just the mounts. If your interested, pm me. I'll give you contact info. The bulkhead connector on firewall is the same as all production cars. If your talking about the chrome drip rail moulding on the roof of the car??, no, none of the LO or BO cars had this chrome moulding as far as I'm aware. Ask away as many questions as you need. We'll try & misquide you to the best of our ability liteweight |

Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
If you are referring to the chrome on the top of the door itself ,no. Original BO doors have no chrome trim on top .

Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
Good morning Gang,
Regarding the "guess who the driver is", I'll take a shot and say Judy Lilly. Back in the day, her Cuda was the only one(I think, not 100% sure) that MPC produced a model car for. They sold back then for $1.50/ $2.00. Find one now with the original shrink wrap still attached, and you're looking at 6-800 dollar range. If I'm correct, do I get a prize? LOL God Bless, Walt |
Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
Hi, I’m looking for help in finding any history on a B029 Hemi Cuda. The cuda has been inspected and verified by Galen Gouvier as an original B029 car. Does anyone have information by vin number to identify who originally purchased and raced the car?
Thanks Fred |
Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
Wow, another one. best person to speak with on these BO cars is Mark Janaky. There is NO ONE that has more history & info on these LO/BO cars than Mark. He stops by here on occasion, but I have contact info if interested. PM me.
Pictures are needed by both you new members liteweight |

I wish I knew as much Drag racing history as most of the poster here do. I do know models though. I'm not trying to steal the thread, but I'll try to include a picture of the latest model I just finished. Maybe someone will recognize it. LOL. God Bless. Walt:) |

Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......
thats her.uncut rear, mini tubbed, 4 speed ,that is the original hood under that scoop, original intake, nos carbs, original tack drive distributor and only 1 mile on the odometer. ps it,s not really a barn find as we knew about the car for almost as long as it,s been in the garage.that,s the first time in 32 years that garage door has been opened,it was actually bolted shut.
