Yep...in the past I have addressed the subject of valve train dynamics and camshaft lobes in the Tech section...there is a lot more on new camshaft designs that do not require the high spring pressures being used today... ;)

The GM guys always "cry" when they don't have the upper hand; perfect case in point: Pro Stock 1970-71. Nobody cried (read Mopar) to the extent the GM boys did during Mopar's dominance (read: Ronnie Sox--only one racer!) heyday. When the Grump cleaned up in 1972 and to a lesser extent in 1973 then the Fords of Bob Glidden and Gapp & Roush started dominating, we didn't get anywhere near the anti-Chrysler-type whining by both racers and the press when other makes where dominating thanks to the less lbs./cu.in weight (and shorter wheelbase) advantage.

Back to Stock Eliminator: bad move on the NHRA's part in making this rules change.

You guys are forgetting the fact that many of the current crop of racers would have trouble just getting the valve covers off. Forget about monitoring spring pressure.

Ha-ha-ha...YOU'VE GOT THAT RIGHT!

How pathetic...
