I think we could all agree that the fans don't like it. SSGN and JimR have good ideas. Another idea could be to have a break out MPH as well, that would eliminate some of the holding and keep the cars a little closer down track. I think that would also reduce the cost to compete, you would'nt need a T/S car that runs 170+ in S/G. Run your T/S car in T/S. Just a nice backhalf car with a mild big block could run S/G and a backhalf small block could run S/ST...affordable! More wheel stands like the S/S cars and Stockers. Did you ever notice how many fans watch at the starting line as opposed to the finish line. It's about 99%, that's where the neat stuff is happening, the burnout, the tree, the hole shot, THE WHEEL STANDS, and going thru the gears! That's where the fans are, and that's where the Super classes cut the motor off. That's like you and your girl friend gettin all hot and bothered, strippin down, .401 bulb, gettin ready for action, and she starts puttin her clothes back on....that's throttle stop sex! It sucks too! Race like you like your sex...WFO. You and everybody that watches you will enjoy it more. Now you will have more competitors, more fans, and more of your money! Whats not to like?

And this is coming from a S/G racer who is now going Super Stock racing ! Well said Wade. I personally feel the minimum weights are also a waste of time. If the car was built to run a certain number why worry about how little it weighs especially with S/ST and H/R on a 5 tenths tree ?

Wade best anology, you should be a Teacher(would love to see the parents faces when little Johnny explain where he learn to be so bright) You get a ten. I hope you won't mind if I appropriate your explanation as my own. Let me know where I have to send the money order. 90's section also started a segment on how to improve racing in the 90's style class racing, so we know that there is a problem. I would love to come back to S/G, I wan to build my own motors but I know my limit 600 horse is my limit where I still can build something that won't break apart like an I.E D.CR

just a quick question, why are they .90 classes?
why not make 'em 10 flat or 9 flat AT ANY ALTITUDE?
just curious, i have no intention of running a throttle stop car (a rambler with a throttle stop would be redundant ;) )

How many people compete each year in SuperComp and SuperGas compared to Stock and SuperStock?

Just the ones who cant make a car go quick and fast without building/buying and installing a 500 + inch engine in a fly weight car.

Don't be mocking stockers. The rules keep them from going quick or fast. Duh.

Ok, please do not take offence if you race in any of these classes. From the day that NHRA allowed these car I enjoyed watching these classes, they were very entertaining to spectate. Could we remove the throttle stops! I really enjoy watching T/D and T/S ,bracket racing you may say, but entertaining none the less. Braking systems are so much better now. Does anyone have a better idea than throttle stops. I love the color and the engineering that these class bring to NHRA. I'm looking forward to Indy. CR

After watching all of the qualifying round at Indy and at the Div 1 Englishtown meet. I have to say that you didn't have to have a thousand HP but it helped. I was quite entertained by the close racing and didn't see many people leave their seats on Friday at Indy. First round was very enjoyable. Most racer have no problem with the timers and some traditionalist want to return to no delay. I was wrong, no biggy here since I'm wrong most of the time. Claude

Super class cars are BRACKET cars and bracket cars belong on the LOCAL level NOT at national events.
