Jeff, it is obvious you do not know that facts on this issue, why you continue to comment without all the info is beyond me.

This is reason I was told at Gainesville, "your car never came with an aluminum center section, therefore it is not legal." The official told me it was not a performance advantage. Why do you not believe me?

Can we now put the performance issue to rest.

Because...there are MANY things in Stock Eliminator that are NOT allowed DESPITE the fact (perceived or real) they are NOT A PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE. I'm sure you understand this. Some items are better because they don't break (perhaps aluminum rocker arms as just one example), some items are better because you can shift one problem area to a more easily rectified problem area (again, my example in previous posts about moving weight around (and I can't believe you don't think there is something in that; if not for you, then others), and some issues with NHRA is because it just doesn't "fit the picture" of Stock (a truly ambiguous statement if there ever was one but reality in many instances just the same).
To summarize; a part does not have to be directly attributable as performance enhancing part to receive consideration for inclusion in the allowable rules. The part may be viewed by some as equal or possibly even worse but that position is not all that is considered.
Now at this point, you may be sitting on a letter granting approval. If so, I say congratulations. If not, I believe the opinions I have expressed are part of the rationale behind the decision to not allowing the part.

Along time ago when stock was closer to real stock wasn't the saying that If the rule book does not specifically say you can't---than you can ! This is what fostered the interpretation of the rules. Now, they reverse it. Nice to play both sides of the fence.

I ilke the idea of an aluminum center to save your back when sevicing the car fitting it off or on. We aren't getting any younger.
