Never met you Charley, don't mind some of your outspoken posts, rather enjoy them; nothing wrong with some swagger but you're really over the top on this one in order to provoke....don't think NHRA can be that stupid. Turn away the most popular muscle cars in history and some of their top runners unless they completely change out their race cars in this climate? Tell many of the past Stock Champs "no thanks, we don't need your type". C'mon Man! Bet you can't wait for Greg or Andrew to get back to their keyboard, and if they don't take the bait, what then?

Ten years ago there were a good place to race. Now there national events are a joke. I think the northern nats this year had about 400 total fans. And what they call a pro show is nothing but a local night of fire show. When I when to the northern nationals in 2002 the place was packed, tons of fans and racers. IHRA is not on the right track.

Now all the news from SEMA. New carmaro looks great MPR did a great job like always.

New Stk rule changes on the table for 2012

64 car fields for ss and stk at all nationals but Indy.
For stock only 1980 and newer cars only.
All you cry babys are going to get your want NHRA no longer needs you old cars to fill there fields. Sorry Greg and Andrew no NHRA for you guys next year. Well you can always run SS.
And last three new stk classes all 10.5 tire.
New cars are here to stay. Are you?

64 car fields. That's the stupidist f%$(Ing thing I've heard in awhile.

Cars only 1980 and newer only is the stupidist f%#$king thing I have ever heard period.

Hey.....NHRA did it back in the early 70's. They said 1960 and newer so whos to say they wont do it again. Id be worried.....Id be VERY worried unless you had one of those bogus HP new fangled Fords or DP's. Damn.....I can almost hear the phones ringing off the hook in Calif. from here tomorrow morning.

No bait here, just the buzz from SEMA 2011. Also all national events(but INDY) are going to be three days in 2013. I was told this will help save on employee's, hotels, travel costs and the cost to run the event.

NHRA doesn’t make any money on older cars. They could care less about a 1969 camaro in A/SA that gets killed week in and week out by new cars. It cost more time ,money and employee’s to police these older cars and the cheating that going on with them. The newer cars are way easier to police. NHRA wants SS/STK to be easier to control with less bit^hing. And to taking up less time on the track. STK and SS are just filler for the big show. You guys need to wake up. When NHRA goes to this three day format what do you think they’re going to cut out? Extra cars. They want to see 30-40 New CJ’s,DP and camaro’s because that what people in the auto industry are talking about. The old days are over, some of you just can’t seem to get it through you heads.

Ed NHRA could care less about what you think, you don't pay the bills. The 2500 plus fans that come to each national event and buy beer, food and t-shirts pay 80 plus % of the bills. And when they leave they don't bitc$ about hp or rules or call CA on monday. They just want to know the date for next years event.

Hummmmmmmmm, This looks like how NHRA plans on increasing the Super Stock car counts.
As far as who will pay the extra insurance $$$$ for the fuel cars they always have the .90 cars. Maybe they would include the S/ST class to make up the difference? Then there is always T/D and T/S. Yes.....Id be VERY worried if I had a 68-69 Camaro, 63-64 Dodge Plymouth, or any other old dinosoaur with (heavens forbid) a carb.

I truly hope that Charley is wrong in his beliefs.

As a owner of a new car and an old car, one must admit that the old is THE one....a 70 Challenger is cooler than a dragpak...When you open up your garage, which one takes your breath away?....a 70 boss 302 is cooler than any new cobra jet....of course change is the only constant, but with the dynacorn bodies, what is old is new too....The old car cars are just rolling artwork, the new not so much...but I was hoping to compete with my classic challenger at a national event...Can't hang with the new stuff, will not even try, but that is not the point, its supposed to be fun......

For the fans the car show of the classic cars and the new muscle is what they kindoff care to see, and they certainly don't care that the XYZ cars HP is X% light....they just want to see the pretty cars do big wheelies....I can't imagine a national event without the classic z-28.....it would just be wrong....

Class racing is different, its not bracket racing, it just different.

BTW Ed is a cool guy, a vet(thank you) and anyone with a Hanoi Jane urinal sticker on his ride is ok with me.
