Re: Team Mopar Records Unofficial Fastest Pass in Pro Stock

Todays ProStockers are unrecognizable without the name being printed on the car.
Nice to see the latest development of the original concept.

Top Stock tried to revitalize the original concept but have seen little of that in a while.

Think the key issue that killed it was trying to balance the HP values of too many engines.

IMHO Top Stock Eliminator cars should be a seperate class from Stock.

Set the weight limit to 8.00#/cuin.
Minimum weight of 3200lbs
650 CFM Carb limit, No Hood scoops, Stock Hoods.
Any Cylinder Head, Iron Blocks, NA.
Use Engine Master rules to build a 2500-6500rpm engines.
Maximum Cam Lift .550 any Rocker
10 Inch tire, Stocker Suspensions.

Have a Frontal Surface Varience factor for big faced cars.
That way a slick Vette and Polara can compete.
AND so racers can have something to gosip about.

All other Stock Eliminator Rules in play..

I believe the idea of Top Stock was to be able to use a "legal" class car and adjust the weight accordingly. This way you can run the car in the eliminator as well.

Just does not make sense to me but you guys on here probably know it all better than I do

:-) peace

60 degrees out there good weather how fast did those guys run out west?

Doesn't get much lower than that Tommy. Of course we could say they got Eckman and Orndorf kind of help also ....

Yep! Mike Edwards has no idea what a soft tune up is. 0.982 sixty on the first pass and 168mph to the eighth. His car was moving on both ends. Looks like everyone else was a lil soft, undergeared, or too aggressive in the first round.

Then Jason Line knocked him down to 2nd by a hundredth.

Last night the announcer said Alan Johnson has run extremely fast in pre-season testing before then appeared to struggle to match it when the season starts.

another thing when they test in Florida they are 50 feet above SEA LEVEL Pomona is like 1600 feet ABOVE(claremont airport is across the street from the track)---take some time off for that- coupla hun at least--while some people can run great times and test at 1600 feet not bogus times like those 50 footers
