The guys in Division 1 were and are still some of the best.

There is a lot of really good ones out there, as have been posted.

It all depends on what you are gauging as the qualifications.

People I remember reading about was like Ronnie Sox. But we are talking about true Stockers campaigned on a regular basis.

Kevin Helms has won three championships. SE, Hughes, Truman, Calvert, Waldo, Keen, Broadbent, Bednaz, the list goes on.

It used to be the TRW All Stars where the best came together, as it still does with the Jegs All Stars. Alan Peters reign on Stock is quite impressive.

But it's just a stick shift, put one foot down, move hand, lift foot.

U/SA......That's right, /SA, still have to move my hand

I believe Bobby Warren was one of the best stock racers with a stick and Jack Mullins in a Pontiac station wagon in SS was pretty good too.

He can tell me what my 330 foot time was on any given run ( well almost). I was very fortunate to have met him the first year I started racing stock.

Grew up in Grand Junction watching Jim Hughes work his magic in his stick cars year in and year out!
Not to mention my inspiration for the love of Stock and Superstock!

He also probably owns the only Duramax diesel pickup in the country with a 6spd manual trans in it! lol
