Doug, maybe you should put a stick in your car, because they never came with a automatic transmission from the factory. Tom

Just for the record....the motor torn down at the Indy Nationals was a 1969 375/396 in a 1969 Camaro(not a 1970 402). Everything was found to be legal except for the piston weight, which was 28 grams light. At the end of that season NHRA changed the rule to a piston/rod assembly weight, which would have made the aforementioned engine legal.

Keith,
Thank you for clearing that up, I thought I was losing my mind. Well, I already lost my mind, otherwise I wouldn't be fooling with all of this, I guess I thought I lost my memory. I remember you and I talked about this for an hour or so at Columbus a short time after it happened, and what was posted before you cleared it all up was not what I remembered. If memory serves correct, Schroeder bought that car as a running race car, the engine was not a Wikle, and all you did was put rings and bearings in it. At least that's what I remember, but then, I still don't trust my memory.

And after that they came to my shop in Wichita where Keith and I dyno'd and installed the Wikle engine. From there they went on to Pomona where Keith won the race beating Rampy in the final. Keith is the most competitive racer I have ever met and I'm glad to call him a friend. I'm also glad he isn't racing in C/SA anymore.

I apologize for getting reeled in on the derailment of this thread.
There are a few Camaros out there and your gold '67 has to be one of my favorites.
Tim, could you post a pic for us? I especially liked it with the beadlocks.

Thanks Tracy

The next time you see it it should look even better than it did and beadlocks are a must lol! I'll take the extra weight for the look unless this thing goes 10.000000 then they might get taken off :) I'm dreaming on that 9 sec pass anyway lol.

I have a Wikle engine and it passed teardown last year at the Fall race at Indy when I set the record.

What? nose weight? I had one of the first 70 Camaros in C it was a 50/50 car. You need a better reason than that.
