Good morning everyone. Racing starts at 10:15 with round two of Stock. The weather this morning has partly sunny skies with temps in the upper 60's. We have a 30% chance of rain today with temps going up to the mid 80's

The Showdown will get a time shot, qualifying is set. We have a heads up in A/SA, Ficacci vs Calabro. Hopefully the weather holds up, and we all have a good day racing. I will have more photos as soon as things settle down or I loose. Not sure if Jack will have any more reports, so I will try to stay on top of things.

Good morning kids - It's another sunny day here at Raceway Park and we'll be sure to resume in another hour or so .The barometer is a bit lower than yesterday but still very workable ay 29.88 - and yes, we're spoiled here in D1 with good readings most of the time .

Last nights pro sessions went well but traction was an issue for sure - it was a double edge sword deal - either you set track records or went up in smoke .And they ended it with Jet cars - talk about yawners - not sure why they bothered .

As you now know the Showdown cars will get an extra time trial today - not a bad idea considering how poorly most did the last two days and if it works out we'll have a good show this afternoon .That said I'm not sure if anyone has the moxie to get past Mr.Barton and his mighty COPO.But then that's why we actually run the races - he's human and can make mistakes like the rest of us .

I've got tons of photos but am having download issues -I'd get Ken to help out fixing this problem but the autograph lines at his trailer have been long and he's tired and cranky so - and he's also busy racing and entertaining advertisers so no help for me .

Why do the showdown cars get an extra time shoot? Doesn't seem right, but NHRA just keeps bending the rules at each race.

Either they are part of stock or they aren't make up your mind NHRA!

Ken or Jack, the question I have is are the traction problems a problem with the track or track prep or are there other issues?

They are still part of stock because they get the benefit of running in stock eliminator if they don't qualify for the "showdown".
