Re: "Live" from Charlotte 2017
All I can say is I'm sorry for my lack of reporting but if you've had kids I think you understand! I didn't even have time to visit some of favs like Ms Alice and Joe or Mickey's compound. I ran into the boss Ken last night in the staging lanes I was almost embarrassed lol.
I will say despite my early exit and loss in class we had a great time. That was one fantastic race I had with Kenneth Stott and that's what keeps us coming back for more. |

We got sunburned pretty good but had a great time. Congrats to Geno once again :( and all the class winners.

Re: "Live" from Charlotte 2017
Well everything is finished up here at the 4 Wides just in time! It is now just pouring rain!! Larry went down on the golf cart to congratulate Johnny Labbous for his wins in SC and SG so I guess he is getting soaked!! I made it back into the motorhome before the big rains came! Hopefully this will cool things off a little.
Sorry about my lack of picture taking and reporting this weekend, but I was doing good to just get in and out of the motorhome and on and off of the golf cart! We actually sat up in the stands and watched some racing today. With going 4 at a time, it goes a lot faster. And then there were not any oildowns!! Security allowed us to go up on the golfcart and drop me off right behind the stands which was really nice! I am hoping that there is a spot in Atlanta next weekend where I can watch from the golfcart! I guess we will see whenever we get there! My understanding is that we will not be allowed to stack in Atlanta until 7 am on Wednesday morning. Hopefully they will allow us to stay here until then. I guess we will see tomorrow!! |

Re: "Live" from Charlotte 2017
Reflecting back on our first trip to Charlotte, the track is absolutely first class in all facets. Although, elimination pairing is a little different as you have competitor's in the same class pitted on opposite sides of the track. It makes for a long walk to flip for lanes and can be a little tricky entering the racing surface from opposite sides. Overall though, the place is great and everyone should attend at least once.
However, if your a first time visitor, I would ask for directions from competitors who have been. When we arrived on Wednesday evening, the sign said for Sportsman Racers to go to Gate P. Well, good luck finding Gate P on your first try! And as you find your way to Gate P, be cautious of the "speed bumps" that you have to cross. Nick |
Re: "Live" from Charlotte 2017
I can't believe anyone would have a hard time finding gate P lol! Just kidding a little, it can be a bit confusing especially class. I've always said they should separate the classes so everyone is pitted on the same side. It would be a lot less head ache for the staff trying to pair cars. Cody and the D2 crew did a great job as usual but it could be alot easier for them.
