Let's go the other way and run off the national record. You run under, you're the new record holder and come apart. It's a performance based eliminator, some people seem to forget that. Put up or shut up!

And while we're at it the quotas are 65 cars let's, have it a 64 qualified field. 1 car doesn't qualify and you have a 6 round race. no bye runs.

I like John's idea. Anyone else?

All kidding aside, believe it or not, I'm good with this. Just as long as we get a few things "fixed" first.
1. "Stock" needs to be stock again. All of the performance parts catalog stuff has got to go. If it wasn't on the ENGINE when it left the factory, then it ain't legal. No "over-the-counter" ****. If you can't find the correct pieces to build a combo then buy a NEW combo.
2. We need to get a few HP factors fixed and fixed right now. No more "pie-in-the-sky" re-factors and "buddy deals".
3. We need Tech Inspectors that know what Stock and SS Eliminator is really about. That have a reasonable understanding of engine combos and vehicle dynamics. Not just corporate yes men.
Tom, I'll take that Cuervo now.

Get this done and I'll sign up now!

I think he means the magazine is no longer being produced, and Steve Collison passed away.

Go for it, Billy! NHRA needs tech guys like you. You'll need a few young apprentices to pass the torch to. Otherwise, The next gen S/SS cars will be shells of their former selves. Oh, they already are!

But if Billy gets S/SS put back to its former self, I have a low block Mopar dual point distributor for sale...

I've got about 20 copies between ones that Steve sent me when that issue came out plus others that friends have given me over the years .
Steve also gave me the original Offset print roll which is almost like a lamination.
He took a lot of heat from the publisher , that was the first time a non lettered ,no decal car ever appeared on the SSDI cover.
