I guess you or the scales where slightly off at Sonoma, cause you know they will be right on at Indy.

Along about 1975 I heard Marty Barrett (former D 3 tech guru) tell a west coast racer that things change when you come across this mountains!

The actual line, and it was quoted by many other than West Coast racers, was that all of those fast West Coast cars lost a tenth when they crossed the Mississippi..

When we went, we took masking tape and sealed the trailer tight so that the horsepower didn't leak out on the way East...

.Good luck.

I was going to ask what is all that green stuff?
Nothing like it at any of the tracks around here. If I get a chance to take my car there some day maybe I can bring my riding mower and make a little cash.

Yes I agree at Sonoma every time I came around it has higher and I took out 5 lbs by the end of the meet I was 20-25 lbs lighter. Now at Indy I am putting it all back. I am glad I went over to weigh it before tomorrow morning Q1 My weight box is bulging at the seems today.

We used to joke about the fast west coast cars slowing a tenth when crossing the mountains to get to Div 4. This was before weather stations. First time I went to Pomona with my '56 Chevy Jr Stocker, I almost fainted when I collected my first time slip. Learned to take some gear out next time. Picked it up some more. Same for east coast cars coming here. Dallas was our fast track then. We had no Fremont, CA or Atco, NJ. No Problem can be fast at times.
