Gump, Robin, I really am enjoying your "tongue-in-cheek discussion" that you have going on here BUT, if I may interrupt it for just a few I'd like to tell you and the rest of the members a bit of a "right now" Billy story. The other day I had a "buddy" pick up his stuff. It's all good stuff and every time I have to deal with his stuff I'm always told that "money is no object". Today I finished repairing another "buddy's" stuff because he doesn't have the money for good, new stuff. The commonality between these two "buddys" is that they're both NHRA Stock Eliminator Racers. They both support NHRA and hit a bunch of races each year. My point being, NHRA or Lonnie or the SRAC or who ever is making the decisions at the top should be trying to keep both of these "buddys" happy and racing.

Who said it's "tongue-in-cheek"? I'm really hoping that Robin's BOGUS hot rod gets the HP it deserves......

As I stated earlier, racers are creative and there are many ways to skin a cat. (Sorry Cat Lovers... :D )

This was not a throttle limiter. I had a few friends about 35 years ago that would use this on a QJet. This would set your rpm you staged at. Hit the toggle switch and it would open your carb the same every run. For it to limit your throttle it would have to be on the other side of the linkage. BP

Barry,

In this particular case, the guy had it rigged to limit the throttle opening and got caught. It was directly hooked to the throttle lever with a modified bracket. NHRA Tech made him remove it and took it away.
