First of all this is not a personal attack on Russ. The fact is everyone seems to be happy NHRA pulled a couple cars into the barn, then they find some critical dimensions out of spec. And now most are saying Russ and Georgie are good old boys etc, honest mistake, have a nice day. I show up with an 850 cfm carb in place of a spec 750, will I get a vacation or will I be praised? I am not bashing Russ or Georgie, I am stating the cars weren’t legal. I know in the past what NHRA did when that happened. All I want to see is what will they do here. More or less set the precedent for the future.

And for those saying no big deal, what is a big deal? Titanium valves, dominator carburetor, nitrous system? Tell me how far I can go before I need to plan a 6 month trip to Hawaii?

That's a good question and I'll be the first one to say you as a racer are responsible for what you're running in your car. Bubba's motor was out of spec and he'll answer for it whatever the punishment is. I'm standing up for Bubba as a friend who seems to be getting rocks thrown his way from some people in glass houses or people with no name.
Who knows what the punishment is these days but I believe a precedent was set last year on another incident when it was corrected and the racer was allowed to continue racing who I consider another friend. This sport is expensive enough without people sitting around wishing another competitor to be fined or suspended and that's what appears to be happening here.

Tuesday is usually the day the penalty’s are listed on the NHRA site.

I went to the barn years ago at that race ,was found to be .001 big on bore. next race had to come with motor apart for inspection, every checks good you are good to go. penalty will depend on if they feel it was a simple mistake or flagrant one . john kuzenberger 1872 s/s 1873 stk. p.s i know the linkes for 30 years and do not believe this was intentional

I've had a few messages over the last couple days basically asking "so you think this ok and we shouldn't be suspending or fining people?" Well yes and no lol
I don't think it's ok but do we want to do financial harm to someone when there is so little for us in return?
I mean let's face it we're not running for squat and class means nothing financially. But it is a class Wally and this time the right person/car ended up with it in the end.
My personal opinion says he already lost $330 entry fee so how much more would you want to see?

The $330 is only the tip of the iceberg - start with towing costs / tolls along with several days at a motel plus food everyday ( would you want to buy groceries for Bubba ??? ) throw in some gaskets and race gas plus that awful stuff he chews and I'll bet the cost is up over a grand . That already is a stiff punishment . And like you said the right racer got the wally.

On the other hand I spent that much ( or more ) and didn't get a wally .

One last thing - there were three other racers in tear down and not much said about them.Hmmmmm..............
