Jack,
Do you remember me?

I worked for you near 30 years ago at the Wise Ave. Amoco with Cecil. Did the state inspections for you for the car lot that you and Vernon had over on North Point Blvd.
Had the white 70 Chevelle and caught that old hunk of junk tow truck of yours on fire one night because you wouldn't let Scott fix the carb....Rather than let the truck burn to the ground, I put the fire out with my jacket and dirt & gravel from the side of the road...then you flipped out on me for filling the carb with dirt, rather than thanking me for saving the truck...

You were the first guy I ever worked with who threw tools around the shop when you had a temper tantrum....

Ahhh, good times. Glad you're doing well.

Do you and/or Scott still have a shop?

Have to agree, operated on a srort fuse most of the time back then, and was known to launch a tool or two at times. No secret.
Only tow truck fire I can remember was when Baltimore Police called me around 2 or 3AM one morning to tell me that one of my trucks was found in grass plot of nearby highway NO FIRE, They also said they had an employee who was walking along the road near the fire with the keys for the truck in his pocket. Truck was a total loss.
Never knew why he had the truck out , as the station closed a 9PM and truck was locked in building on closing.
Needless to say that employee was dismissed on the spot.
Seems to me the fire you talked of most likley happened exactly as you said, and my statement at the time sounds just about the way I would have handeled it. Back then I was not a people person. Age and time have rounded the edges a bit.

Glad you've calmed down since then Jack.

This was the sling truck that I used to haul a parts car from Cox junkyard to Perry Hall. All ok'd and approved by Scott. The carb always flooded out real bad and Scott was supposed to have fixed it...but obviously it wasn't.

I have no idea about the other fire but thought it was pretty awesome to see your name on here...

I remember all of the nice race cars that would be at the other gas station near Liberty Pkwy.

Dr. Jack Arnew ~ 'Professor of Suspension'

When you set up the rear suspension on the BO29 and LO23 Race Hemi A-Body cars.

What did you set the rear shackle angle at ?

Was is left vertical, or angled slightly ?
