The first that I have heard that Chinook Chrysler bought the car from any place but Chrysler Corp was on this thread, but I suppose they could have bought it from someone that had a change of plans. I really can`t remember seeing the car in factory primer ever,it always had one of the ...um attractive paint jobs, so maybe it was bought from a private source.
Sure would be cool to see a few old days pics, hope you can get them posted. By the way marfen, if you have Alberta racing pics from 1969-72, could you have a look to see if there are any shots of my 1969 orange Hemi Roadrunner? lost any shots I had many years ago

Thats a neat "Old Trapper" shot. I have many memories of sitting in those stands at Seattle International Raceway as it was called back then. The starter standing behind the car in the photo is Ray Rice,,,father of div.7 director Mike Rice.
I'm thinking I have a color shot of this car, but don't know how to post it. I'll have to go through some of my boxes and find it.

h there have just joined the forum...was searching for a forgotten car when i came across your site and thought i could add some insite to a bit of mis information i read....the Demented Dart and the High Roller car are not the same car. the high Roller car is the Chinook Chrysler car...which lost some of its lightweight glass upon a late night tuning session in the service dept when the frequency of the glass didnt like the frequency emitted by the Hemi. also i see 4 cars listed as canadien...firstly its canadian...and secondly i was informed by cam that the only canadian car sold in the country was his...i talked to harold and he said that the high roller car was purchased by chinook from the states. Dick Panter ran the car one year for Cam ...and didnt buy the car...he also didnt own the High roller car as far as i heard. Cams car the demented car...also ran at the '68 winternat's where he was told to slow down...as he was running close to the times of the chrysler sponsered cars....he did...and when he got back to edmonton wa-la there was chrylser sponsership money....he also told me to try and keep the engines together...they were constantly finding wrecked cars to pilfer engines from...one car that i tried to buy later on was a 69 hemi daytona that had been rolled in central alberta...he said he sat in that car in 69 ...with the roof bent down ...and the wing busted off...and heard it run...but couldnt bring himself to pay the $2500 bucks the guy wanted for it. ah those were the days

Ironhorse,,,,,,Welcome

Gil Clark, out of Toronto had one of the originals (which I believe was the
#5 car, a 4-speed, and an AHRA contract-racer)

Also, no Hemi A-Body Super/Stockers at the 68' Winternationals.
First major event was at the 68' Springnationals at Englishtown, NJ.

my mistake ...it was '69 winternats. i was told that the eastern canadian dart was also brought up pfrom the states...but not sure about that. i have some early pics of cam's car sent to me from Dick Panter...he said he ran the car for Cam i think for one season...thus the lettering on the doors. there is an early shot of Cams car with shoe polish lettering, one of both darts racing... in possibly Calgary. sorry for the quality will scan them tonight and resend. cheers

Wow, all this time I thought Mr. Panter had bought the old Chinook Dart.
Could be another memory oopsie on my part on the window, but I thought that it was broken while the Dart was sitting on it`s trailer at the back fence at Chinook Chrysler after they quit racing it. I do know that is when the hood went missing.
Also, don`t know if you are aware that the rolled Daytona hemi car was bought by a fellow from Calgary and restoration started, this happened quite a while ago and the car may be finished now...but looking in the background of the pic of your car...I guess you probably already know. Very cool pics...thanks

that rolled daytona has been restored and hitting the street hard for a few years now. Over here in Sk. we always enjoyed a visit back in the day at Saskatoon International Raceway by the 2 Alberta Hemi Darts or any of the Old Trapper fleet. They raced here often.
