And Ed, why are you complaining? You weren't even planning on running this race anyway.

Good night Zippy.

tech is closed...no new entries...that is just the way it is...

It was the same case at the Virginia national a couple of years ago when it was a gauranteed monsoon. I didn't want to waste the time and fuel to go sit in the rain, just to have to go back the following weekend. But if I wasn't there the first time - EVEN THOUGH NO ELIMINATIONS WERE EVEN CLOSE TO HAVING BEEN RUN AND I HAD ALREADY PAID MY ENTRY FEE - I was not allowed to attend.

I was told by several NHRA officials that it wasn't fair to the racers that attended and endured the hardship in week one. They were "rewarded" for their support. I thought it was silly then, and I think it's silly now, but thats the way they roll. PS: it doesn't matter that we never saw a ladder...welcome to random pairings...

BTW, unlike Jack, I think 9:30am Sunday morning was a bit early to call it. I don't think they did anyone any favors. At that point, we had all wasted several days of our lives. Once they didn't bail on Saturday afternoon (based on forecast), I think it was imcumbent on them to stay till at least noon on Sunday. As it turns out, reports from locals state that it turned out to be a more than raceable day.

And I'm sure there are good reasons, but there are NO opportunities from now till October? Lebanon is next week, and the next D1 event is Cecil at the the end of August. Thats almost two months, for crying out loud.

If you couldn't guess, I won't be able to make the resceduled event thats being run almost FOUR months from now...I love divisionals...

Lastly, thanks to Dave Ley for trying to give us a nice race again...

As a business owner myself I would think the track owner would like to have more customers paying twice at the gate come October..

Everybody take a deep breath and relax!
We are talking about October for crying out loud!
When everyone rolls in the gate that morning I think we will have a good idea what the schedule will be.

Was there any word on if Dave is going to reschedule the $ 10,000 dollar S/SS race?? I'm a S/G racer but always enjoy going down to watch those races cause Dave puts on a great show...

Hey Dan what was this rumor I heard you had a meeting with the higher ups at NHRA about the sportsman guys?? Don't know could have just been a rumor but I heard it throughout the grapevine at the Maple Grove Divisional

Dan, I agree with what you are saying. What I don't understand is the economics of it...why turn money away...it's bad business...and NHRA has always done this.

This from the Div. 1 website:

Atco Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Rained Out
Due to the inclement weather throughout the weekend, the Atco Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event has been postponed to October 2. The fields are set and no new entries will be accepted. Stock and Super Stock first round will be random pairing. On Friday morning, we will give ALL competitors one time run and then run the first event to completion. Saturday Morning there will be one time run followed by first round eliminations of the second event

Should make everyone even happier.

Closing the fields is absolutely, positively, unequivocally, WITH OUT A DOUBT the MOST retarded thing they could do in this economic climate!

The second is not running the makeup race on Thursday.

Even worse, running the make up on Friday. Now your taking runs away from the scheduled race, which might make some racers think twice about paying $170 for a shorted race. Thursday seems like a better day for the make up. Also gives you an extra day in case of rain.
