Re: 5TH Gen COPO Camaro
The one thing I don't get about new COPO Camaro. COPO used to designate a GM product with the proformace goodies without the tell tale badging to let others and insurance compaines know that it is a high performance car. Now they are using the COPO name as the top of the line muscle machine, hood scoop and all. Placing it at the top of the food chain. It kind of defeats the idea of the COPO name to me, but I do understand using the COPO name for marketing reasons and trying to profit off of the legendary name.

I wonder if the Big 3 doesn't title these special runs to avoid including them in any government standards, like CAFE? ??? |

Re: 5TH Gen COPO Camaro
Troy , the 427 looked like the faster horse , left better and sounded really good . Looked like it ran both ends of the track better then the supercharged motor . I think the 427 is the motor I would get in the car if they make them .
The major issiue I see with the car is that it does not seem to have the full support of GM where as Ford is head over heals pulling in drag racers and devoloping cars . The new 2013 CJ is a real race car compared to the 2008 CJ were they started . I dont think the GM car is up to the Ford or Mopar , given time they will catch up if they decide to move forward with the program |

Yep, they better dive in or stay out. Waist deep won't cut it. |
Re: 5TH Gen COPO Camaro
Sounds like the blown motor had issues....that's why it was slow.....don't worry it's fast.....it was the first test......be patient.....

Look who built the engines!

Re: 5TH Gen COPO Camaro
Rock, yes there were some minor issues but all in all things went really good for the first time out. We ran the 327 supercharged unit with the 2.9L blower on Monday, changed engines and ran the 427NA unit on Tuesday. We did end testing a bit early (by 3 pm) because my flight left from Orlando Tuesday evening.
Them brownies were awsome, where did you get them? Sorry I missed you and THANKS! |
